MTV sat down with director Sam Raimi for an exclusive interview. The Spiderman franchise director said he’s hoping to start shooting Spider-Man 4 the first week of March 2010. Gary Ross continues to write the script using notes Raimi gave him. Other than Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst no other cast members have been selected.

On other fronts, “Spider-Man 4″ continues to chug along. “The production is starting to come together,” Raimi told us. “I’ve got a production designer who is starting to design the sets and the environments that the picture will take place in. We just brought aboard Scott Stokdyk as one of the two visual effects supervisors, and I worked with him on all three ‘Spider-man’ pictures.”

Spiderman 4 will hit theaters May 5, 2011.

Are people still interested in this franchise? Kinda feel like The Dark Knight and Iron Man changed the landscape for comic book movies in their own respective ways and Spiderman doesn't have a clear cut direction.

I lost interest in this movie after the second film. I know it's still pretty big considering the money it makes. I think I'm too damn old for this comic movie.

Yeah, and I think it gets worse and worse with every movie. Hey Pasta, I know it's wayyyy off topic but I figured this was the only place I could get your attention since in every other place there are like 300 comments already…Why haven't the Madden developers created a way for 3-4 and 4-3 teams to have different depth chart costumization? For example, Joey Porter's rating as a 4-3 LB shouldn't be the same as for a 3-4 LB, and that's what happening with players like Elvis Dumervil. Also, we should be able to change our defense's scheme in franchise mode with this change occuring and without as having to choose the playbook everytime we're going to play a game. I think this needs to be changed, specially with more and more teams switching to a 3-4 (GB, Jacksonville, etc)
