SCEA is out in front again this year having provided a full feature list, screenshots, and now gameplay videos for MLB 10: The Show. With CES taking place now the game has been on display and Gametrailers has posted up a significant chuck of of gameplay featuring the Yankees @ Twins in the brand new Target Field.

  • this game is going to be re-SICK-ulous...a year ago, I bought a PS3 just to play MLB 09 THE SHOW; one of the best purchases i've made in years.

I find it funny how people inherently find a way to complain about anything and everything. These, "The glass is half empty" personalities are probabaly a real joy to be around in their everyday life.

MLB 10 the show has buildt a solid foundation with which to build upon. Of course the game at first glance will look the same because its a game of baseball. Not until you play it will all the nuances of what has been added will become apparent.

You going to see all the additions to this game in a simple 2 miniute clip but like pasta said., you should be thrilled that we are getting this kind of information 2 months out. What does 2k give you: Lame ass commercials with absolutely no game play.....AGAIN! As for those EA lovers out there. Remember that MLB is Sony EXclusive so you know the game will take full advantage of both PS3 and Bluray where as EA will cater to the lesser disc space of the Xbox 360 so EA's baseball game could never match what MLB can bring to the table.

Just imagine if Sony could get their hands on the NFL license to reproduce a game. The Madden empire would never let that happen but if I was Sony I would have something in development just in case it does become available.

Also now I think about it there is that lawsuit in the supreme courts hands on whether exclusive deals like this are legal. There is a lot of lost money due to only company holding the rights and nothing gets people more motivated than money especially in this economy.

    such an ugly game imo

definitely better than that 2k crap tho

You must be the other guy Bob has come over to clean the cum stains off the walls in hi room.
  • you know..... even tho i mite not agree with your opinion, those kind of negative opinions are fine because they dont contain ridiculous and false statemesnts like bobs does.....
  • Josh
    Yawn......
  • i think that it looks to real to be real. kinda scary huh
  • blondeviking64
I hope they dont. I wouldnt be able to make it through a game if I had to watch them step out of the box and back in without really doing anything. That is one of the things I hate about real baseball. Too much boring down time. Strangely I totally enjoy playing baseball games when I think watching them is kinda like watching paint dry
  • wtf.. the show isnt EA...?? and i only have two 2ksports games to talk about any more and i play nba 2k so what are you getting at.
  • FFFFF
Yo man just because something is boring in real life, they can make it more exciting without having exploding bats and fireworks, just speed it up
  • Came on Bobs Face
go back to your mamas basement and jack off the the Jonas Brothers like you always do you fucking asswipe.
  • FFFF
I am sure if Pasta posted a ballet game you would post something about it. It would probably be positive if it was EA, and negative if it was 2k.
  • ummm.. Sorry Bob but i didnt really see the answer to my question. MLB 2k sales on the 360 are ridiclous this last year for it being the ONLY baseball game available. and 2k doesnt compete at all on ps3 in sales so i dont understand your 10 year theory. 2k themselves have showed signs that having the license rights to mlb is hurting them at this point more then helping them.

My theory is your some idiot just trying to get a rise out of people and you know the 2k baseball arguement is one that you wont win. So you get on here and make ridiculous comments and suggestions just to piss people off. I bet you are playing the show laughing your ass off while you are writing this post. You trickster Bob.

    Another 2K fanboy?
  • No, what about me saying "the 2K series is lacking" would imply that? My point is SCEA claimed they would be fixing the player models. This video shows the same disproportioned look.

If 2K claimed anything, people would be all over it. SCEA needs to fix portions of this game and I think they should be held accountable. Unfortunately, it's trendy to love on The Show, so anyone who would like to see things addressed is labeled as a fanboy of 2K.
  • It looks great. I still have issue with them claiming new models would be added this year, yet the player models look disproportioned.

Also, the MLB 2K series doesn't make this game great. Pasta, you start the article out with "MLB The Show is out in front again." Because the 2K series is so lacking doesn't make The Show exceptional. And because they have video of the game out before their competitor doesn't place them in a better "position."

We should be holding SCEA accountable, just like any other franchise. Show us the player models and better online functionality.

They had the walking fans in last year's game. Along with vendors too.
  • blondeviking64
what do you mean by functional? Im not sure I follow here. Do you mean that it plays well? Or that it looks amazing? Please elaborate
  • blondeviking64
Did anyone notice that the people in the bleachers were walking up and down the stands? Go and watch it again. I caught a glimpse of something moving behind the pitcher and that was when I noticed it. It looks very clean and pretty smooth. And 09 was a really smooth game for me. I cant even remember an instance where it glitched for me. Hopefully 10 takes the game a step further

I love of Rod Gardenhire is umping on the 3rd base line
  • TJ_
    What?
  • Dont eat burgers so i dont know what your talkin bout. hopefully my eyes will be opened. I will tell you this though if it looks like 2k does have an edge i will give it an honest chance, unlike most completly biased people you run into on this site.
  • Trojan92
Hey thats why I was asking.

The fact that you're nitpicking about the "same disproportion look" that fans of the game easily overlook because the rest of the presentation is so tight.

SCEA has made improvement's to the player models, for one Curtis Granderson looks much better than last year's representation of him.

To each his own I guess.
  • The game looks great, especially the animations. For me, I'm an online league player. That aspect of the game needs to be done right. 2K still can't get it right. While the game played ok online, their leagues still are gaffed up.

The same goes for The Show. It bothers me that they claimed the player models would be fixed and nothing happened. It makes me wonder about their claim with online leagues.

It's not nitpicking. It's wanting the developer to give what they claim.
  • Came on Bobs Face
Warning Warning 2k gay fanboy retard above ! SCEA Never said they were changing the models, where did you hear that, I need to see proof my 2k douche tard boy
  • kRis
1st thing I'm doing is getting back Lee so the Phillies can have both Lee & Halladay. That was a cheap move by the Phillies. They could have had 2 of the top 3 pitchers & they got scared of the finaces 2 years out. Plus if Hamels got back into a groove they would have 3 top tier aces & a sure championship. Cheap @ss owners!
  • TJ_
What makes you think they could have landed Halladay without dealing Lee?
  • I agree....Cliff Lee is awesome....
  • kRis
U got a point. The Yankees had the best team money can buy & when they faced the Phillies in the WS they kept calling for timeouts. Every batter and the pitcher kept calling timeouts to the point where they made a mockery of the game
  • Thats the thing why be negative towards somthing you obviously do not understand. If you are biased towards something and you know your opinion will never differ then why bother. baseball is a great sport and has been around a long time , maybe action sports are more up your alley but you have to understand the skill it takes for a pitcher to paint a corner and get double digit strikeouts in a game or the skill it takes to stand in a batters box while a ball is zipped by you at 90+ miles an hour and have the presence of mind, power and mechanics to hit that small ball with a barrel of a bat. It might be boring and yes they stand around alot but it takes more skill then most other sports. And im sure the "fun" baseball games you are refering to are along the lines of slugfest and the bigs and hey if you like that kinda stuff good for you i dont mind it either but a good sim baseball game cant be beat.
  • FFFFF
zzzzzzzzzzz MVP was fun and it didn't have the CPU taking forever to pitch
  • Bob
Sometimes numbers do not tell the whole story. I have a PS3 & got MLB 2K becuz The Show was too gimicky. When u compare the two titles next to each other then your eyes will open just like mine did. I enjoy having a true sim expirence with the best commentators of any game. The Show is like Micky D's while MLB 2K is a gourmet burger.
  • Came on Bobs Face
Hey 2k fucktard Bob. Ronnie let you up from between his legs for some air to post here?
  • FFFFF
I hear ya Bob. Make a game functional. The way a player ran to first base but stopped look odd.
  • FFFFF
Why only post positive things when I can post both sides of the story. Some baseball games have been fun in the past. I am sure you love watching pitchers take one minute between pitches while players step out of the box to grab their nuts, spit, dig their feet in, swing a few check swings, or waiting while the pitcher shakes his head no five times, twirls the ball in his hands, and then the catcher comes out to tell him he loves him.

If baseball wants to not suck, make it faster, 5 seconds between pitches and no timeouts. Get a grip man, baseball is like watching an intense chess match.
  • Bob
I hope you like playing crap games from EA year after year with the only thing changing is the number on the box. Have fun with that one d-bag
