SCEA has released a large supply of images from the game and just recently the gameplay videos started to make their way out. With more of those on the way attention may be turning towards the demo which could be out as early as this Thursday (though nothing has been confirmed as of yet). Whoever is doing these screens must be a Phillie/Braves fan. Another shot of Jason Bay misplaying a ball in the OF. Heh.

    MLB 10 The Show
    Posted on December 8, 2009 at 02:02 PM. (0)

With the '09 winter meetings convening and several off-season transitions already inked and videod on franchised web pages, MLB 10 The Show's pre-season sightings are soon to be noticed. The inevitable and expected cover boy of the game will soon be announced, along with several poses on which to vote or suggest, and then come the long-awaited screen shots. We'll be tempted like Eve in the Garden with Jeter's diving stop or Howard's long sweeping swing, the red-and-white stripes illuminating, the creases of his uniform shadowed perfectly, the crowd faded in the background, the textured dirt temptingly sizzling beneath the highly resolutioned sun, the grass as green as Irish parade in Boston, and other such well-designed and still shots. And sometime in Jaunary, two months before the release of “the game”, we shall have our first video bytes, short, little glimpses into the promised land. The sounds of the crowd, the umpires' chants, the sporadic yellings from the stands, the sound effects of that bat hitting the ball, the hot dog vendor tripping the light fancy down the concrete isle, screams from the shadows, the familiar color commentator and play-by-play man, and more. We will salivate and our anticipations will build, giving us hope to wait longer for the demo in February. Build it and it will come. We will download it. (It's the only download that I actually sit and watch, and count…99%) When it gets to 100%, I can hardly sit still. I want to see on my 50-inch plasma, the colors of spring, the crispness of America's pastime, the life-blood of sports, baseball. I will play that 3-inning game a thousand times with the same lineups, pitchers, and stadium. It will soothe my every spare second of late-winter existence. I am transported to summer and beyond with my MLB 10 The Show demo. It's my fix. It's my addiction in a next-gen console. The blackness of my PS3 and XBOX360's become symbolic of the rich sin I purposely expose my soul to in those late-night 3-inning-ers. Just to guess pitch an inside screamer and send it chalk-dusting over first base or meet the 2-finger up and out to left center; sorry I'm assuming a leftie at the plate here. It's a old college flash back. I apologize. Then it happens…the night before. The night before the release of the real game. I drive by Gamespot several times before I have the nerve to actually enter the store and ask the dumb question: “Has it arrived?” I'm then told it will be here tomorrow. I can't sleep, so I play several rounds of 3-inning-ers. I arrive at the store while the owner is still opening UPS and FedEx boxes. My eyes search the area behind the front desk. I spot the game. I stare like a lion having seen a limping, infant gazelle in open range. I drool. The store owner, having seen my emotional routines from past springs, quickly grabs a fresh copy of the game, places it in a bag, and hands it to me. I walk away. Get in car. Translucently float home. Open box. open game. insert it. Talk to you later. I'm climaxing.

Dude you should get a girlfriend….

    Thanks. Ill try that

This game is going to be EPIC

  • Bob

EPIC Fail maybe, there are just too many issues with what I'm seeing from The Show so far. The screen shots are blurry with linebackers playing baseball, the commentary seems to be the same as the past 4 years and the online hasn't been drastically updated. Add to the fact that their were so many glitches last year like bunts for homeruns and pitchers that don't play a ball that lands directly behind them that it looks like another 2nd place finish for The Show. MLB 2K is the gold standard and The Show's developers need to get their game up to par.

  • Bob

I'm still waiting for that “WOW” moment that you get when playing or looking at screen shots of MLB 2K10 aka 2010 Game of the Year.

  • http://twitter.com/KMillsZ19o Ketewa Edwards

your right Bob Sagat you do get a wow moment from MLB 2K as in “Wow” I can't believe 2K is still making these half ass baseball games are we really supposed to take this game serious? Every time I look at that piece of shit which is MLB 2K I can't stop laughing that game is a joke and until proven wrong but until then that game has no high power what so ever over The Show.

  • http://twitter.com/KMillsZ19o Ketewa Edwards

But I'll tell you one thing what I do like about MLB 2Kis the hitting mechanics with the stick & pitching with the stick & also it makes good for some easy ass achievement GS points so yea this may just be a definite rent buy fuck no i got The Show on reserve but for achievments yea this game is a lock to get you a good 1000 GS points in a day or two hahaha

  • Ansky

“Another second place finish”? Dude what are you basing the last one on?? Definitely not sales, just ask take-2 about that.

  • sroeland

    Bob, you make my day…

  • RyanHoward is a BEAST

Bob is a funny guy. That is the best post you've made so far. Good stuff.

  • carolinaeasy

Baghdad bob strikes again…His greatest hits include “The Americans are committing suicide at Baghdad's gates”, and “we are driving the Americans back to the sea”.
Now his latest statement of absurdity, 2K is the gold standard.

  • BU1B22

whatever yur smoking is really kickin yur ass buddy. 2k is better this year than last year, but if yur gonna try to make the show look bad, u need to at least play 2k first.

  • BU1B22

or wow, i cant believe i spent 60 on that

  • Mykal94

    Demo?

  • Mike

Bob is delusional, mentally retarded, over-exaggerative, and basically, just ass backwards. MLB 2K is the gold standard ?? LOL ! For what ? How to NOT make a major league baseball video game ?

The Show's developers ( SCEA ) actually understand baseball very well – much better than 2K's developers. I love how they tried explaining check swings aren't actually necessary and are barely used in reality. Get a fuckin' clue, Bob, ya jerkoff. You're probably one of the fuckin' idiotic 2K developers.

  • coryr99

Bob is a fucking retard. I see him posting all this shit saying how MLB2k is so much better and has glitches, but so does every game. I used to play MLB2k because I only had an xbox 360. After 2k8 I completely lost any faith in them making a playable game and bought a ps3 to get the show. Actually what Bob is doing is slander because he has no fucking clue how bad 2k is. They produce shitty games for baseball at least. MLB the show might be the best game I've ever played and I cannot wait for this one to come out

  • T. DALEY

First off this game is as beautiful as ever. If only Sony could make a football game and a basketball game for the PS3 that is this spectacular. Secondly, there is no doubt that this years game will be better than last years and I am very confident that the online play will be much better this year since Sony claimed it to be a major focal point for this years game. Lastly I am relieved to see that they “FIXED THE OUTFIELD WALL COLOR” in the Mets, “Citi Field”. It was so annoying last year playing with those dodger blue walls. Still don't understand why they couldn't have fixed that in a patch, but none the less, I am pleased it is fixed.

  • T. DALEY

Bob that was simply hysterical. MLB2k being the gold standard is the funniest thing I have ever heard. I dont know how you were able to remain vertical as you typed that.

  • T. DALEY

Lets face it Bob. You don't have a PS3 and your mommy and daddy won't buy you one. I get it. I really do. You are so envious that you cant play the greatest baseball game ever made. I get that too. That is why I wont bash you. Its too easy at this point. Perhaps if you list your xbox on EBAY and save your allowance, you might be able to afford one. Maybe if you get straight A's on your report card and do all your chores, mommy and daddy might get you one.

Lol, Why you guys even read what BoB says? He works for Ronnie at 2k. He will type anything to get his pay cheque

  • PLite14

How can you comment on the online playability of the game when you (or anyone else) has yet to play it online.

  • sandul

I remember when you posted the video of the bunt for homerun. It was a glitch. and a super rare one at that I think… like maybe ever happening…once? you ever wonder why everyone laughs at you? the show constantly gets rated higher, while the 2k series is the one with all the glitches. omg i figured it out, you've been mixing the games up! you think the show is the 2k series.. silly goose.

  • sandul

oh and you want to know why the shot's are “blurry” it's because it's a focal effect. you look at something, everything behind that object is blurry.
