A new trailer has been released for MLB 10: The Show that shows off the classic stadiums which are being delivered via download for those who pre-order the game. Those are Shibe Park, Forbes Field, Polo Grounds, Crosley Field, Sportsman’s Park, and Griffith Stadium. Though it has been stated that the stadiums will be made available for others at some point details on when and for how much have not been laid out. Continue on to view the trailer and leave your thoughts in the comments!

Absolutely can't wait for this game! The Show and God of War series are the reasons I bought my PS3 in the first place. March is going to be a sweet month!

  • sroeland

Thought I read that the classic stadiums will be unlocked if a player earns all MLB 10 trophies…maybe that was just a rumor?

  • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

That is practically impossible to do though.

  • sroeland

    http://kotaku.com/5456844/classic-stadiums-will

Agree that it is near impossible…but at least it's extra incentive to try.

  • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

Right, we're talking months here to achieve that. With that as the specific goal in mind. Something most people won't even come close to doing. So I don't really consider it. I'm more interested in when/how much to download an unlock code.

  • ahr19

I wonder if you can use the Classic stadiums in online leagues. The Forbes field one looks sweeeeeet.

  • nemss

I wonder if someone will create classic rosters you can upload to play in the classic stadiums?

  • Rudy

The lack of Tiger stadium makes this offer much less desirable.

  • skihawks

    Pasta,

Has there been any confirmed denial of future DLC for The Show?

  • Bob

If I wanted to play a baseball game with these lame graphics I would have busted out my Atari 2600.

Also what's up with the unauthentic treeline on Forbes Field? As if they are playing out in the middle of the woods. Crosley Field has industrial buildings right up on the field which is again aesthetically incorrect. The rowhomes in North Philly for Shibe Park didn't reach that high compared to the field & if you know the history like I do then you would know why. Doesn't really mater though as MLB 2K runs laps around this uninspired and rushed developed product.

  • Bob

I have God of War on preorder but it may not get much love as I'd probably be knee deep in my franchise for MLB 2K : )

  • Bob

Tell me about it. Looks like it's going to be another ” No Show” this year.

  • hoxsfan

lol, I think you're mad cause you don't have a PS3 and you have to deal with that slugfest called 2K

  • lynn

    Get a life, Bob.

  • Bob

hoxsfan I've had a PS3 since they came out and like the ability to have a choice between baseball games. I choose MLB 2K because it replicates the deep intricate aspects of baseball. If you like “arcady” style baseball like what you with The Show then that's your choice. There is no right or wrong just preference. If you like profound and engaging gameplay and franchise pick up MLB 2K and if you like homerun derby pick up The Show.

  • Bob

Impossible is nothing with MLB 2K.

  • TheFoz

Kind of a shot in the dark considering the game isnt even out yet no?

But yea probably will be a ball buster to get all of em.

  • Bob

Lynn your so right i dont have a life , and thats why i go around looking for little boys to arouse. Obviously everyone knows that 2K is the “arcady” type of game. I mean c'mon now look at those graphics half of the guys batting stances they just butchered! 2K is a discrace! But I do have no life and thats why I sit on here all day and comment on The Shows blogs so that I feel special cause my moms a prostitute and my dads a drunk.

  • mikeyd418

How does it “replicate” any aspect of baseball? Almost every pitch hit in MLB 2K9 was a homerun even with the most difficult sliders! The Show is clearly the more realistic simulation baseball game.

  • Funkymunky

    Which is why it sucks.

  • nemss

Bob, you sir, are an idiot. You call out these shots on MLB 10 for “rushed developed product” claiming these pics dont' look remotely close to the actual stadium. Here's some comparison shots of 2K9 compared to the real life stadium:

    Tropicana Field:

Here's a lovely shot of 2K9's authentic Tropicana field, complete with 7 Pepsi ads, uneven roof design, uneven walls compared to the actual stadium, no Rays logo under “St. Petersburg Welcomes you”; among many other factors that don't match the real life stadium.

    2K9: http://www.operationsports.com/images/u/media/1
    Actual Stadium: http://twoguysandamap.com/art/TropicanaField.jpg

    Comerica Park:

The background detail isn't even close to the actual view that Comerica provides. The detail under the scoreboard isn't even close to the detail of the actual stadium. Not to mention, the entire left field wall isn't remotely close to what is in Comerica.

    2K9: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://w

    Actual Stadium: http://www.carmelproducts.com/images/comerica%2

    Wrigley Field:

This is just a joke. First off, the ivy doesn't look remotely close to the real life ivy found in Wrigley. Not the mention, the background detail is an absolute joke, the building designs aren't even close. Plus, the buidings in 2K9's Wrigley are almost on top of the stadium, where as in real life, they are on the other side of Waveland. Plus, 2K9 is missing an entire city that sits behind Wrigley.

Only need one shot to compare: http://www.pastapadre.com/wordpress/wp-content/

See what I did there? I took every mundane detail that you took and compared it to 2K9. Obviously, if 2K cared about their fans as much as you say they do, they would have made sure the stadiums looked at least close to the real life stadium. But, there's no way 2K Sports would actually rush a product would they? I mean, its not like in 2K9 you could do something stupid like barrel roll off of a wall, or disappear into the ground completely. Or, like this year, where you don't need check swings to your approach at the plate and ridiculously large lettering on the jerseys.

    Bob, enjoy your 2K10.

  • Funkymunky

Tell us something we don't know.

  • mattcolby

Can we all just lean to ignore Bob? If you stop replying to him he will stop posting. He's obviously just doing it to get everyone upset.

He's a troll, period. Not worth your time debating. No need to clutter this board with more nonsense by spurring him on.

  • Bob

    Dear nemss & anyone else,

I gave this site too many pics and videos of The Show's shortcomings. I provided irrefutable proof and obviously it fell on deaf ears and blind eyes. Madden was considered the greatest sports game last year(by poll) yet when you go on your game winning drive a snickers ad pops up. Where's the outcry? Of course there is no outcry because the media, like this site, is full of hypocrites who hold high standard to things that appease them and low standard to things that despised them. I look at OS, IGN and of course this site and they all do the same thing they unequally mix personal views with actual facts. Then they try to convince you to see it only from thier point of view. Hitler convinced an entire nation to go to war with words after being incarcerated. That's the power of words and once you cancel out all objectionable views what you have left is the same bland tasteless product ruled by a emperor. MLB 2K brings an exciting alternative to the lovefest going on with The Show. Although it may have it's faults it is still an solid game that is thoroughly enjoyable. I love me some MLB 2K and there is nothing you can do to change my infatuation with MLB 2K because in my mind it's the sheeznic.

    Sincerely, Bob

  • Bob

I meant to say “low standards to things that appease them and high standards to things that despise them”

  • Bob

What I meant to say is ” I have no life, and a big vagina.”

  • nemss

Matt, I'm new here, but looking at Bob's previous posts, I think you are completely right. I wish I wouldn't have taken the time to reply to him earlier.

  • Amen Ra

That was good reply man, LOL got to give you props on that one.

  • Amen Ra

Actual Bob that last statement you made is 100% correct. It's also true to what you are doing when you bash The Show. It's fine that you like MLB 2K10, but knocking the other product smells of pure hater-ade. I agree that Pasta, OS and IGN are paid fanboys of EA products that hold high standards to other games, while letting EA's shortcomings go free, but you're method of dealing with the issue is no better.

Madden is extremely over-rated as was NBA Live but to let Pasta and OS tell it you would think they were classic games. When it comes to The Show though man, you are every bit as irratonal as them. don't try and solve the problem by becoming one of the problems.

  • Bob is a Douche

You're such a stupid prick. Enjoy MLB 2K10. I'm lookin' forward to the videos on YouTube showin' all the game killing bugs and glitches. Every 2K Sports game has a few..

  • MLB Dev

The classic stadiums can be used online. It only takes the host to have the stadiums unlocked to allow them to enter online game in one of these venues.

  • Bravesfan

I have bought both games (2k and the Show) the past few years just because I am a huge baseball fan. I have to admit though, every year the 2k product sits and collects dust. The Show is just more realistic in every aspect. Some people might think it is boring because you don't hit 10 homeruns a game, but I go for the more realistic game. I am sure I will probably cough up the dough eventually for 2k10 (I have already pre-ordered The Show) and then cuss myself after I play a couple of games, and put it on the shelf. I just don't even think 2k compares in any aspect. But, to each his own, I guess.

  • ahr19

Thanks for the response. A follow up question would be if you are allowed to use these stadiums in Online franchises also?

  • Leonel85

Looks Pretty Good…. This will be good if I bring friends, and or cousins over and we wanna go at it and just have a tourament….Will Probably pre-order if I ask my parents at the right time. but if not I will get this game the first few days of release. I am still going to purchase the Classic stadiums…Anyone who wants to play can send me a friend request on PSN:

    Its MaliciousViper85 <———– See u guys later

  • Leonel85

U can just rent it…Just a word of advice

  • Clint Eastwood

Knight on OS will be but not till after the season gets going

  • Clint Eastwood

What are these intricacies specifically that 2K does better? I dont even think you know that much about baseball and are some little kid that gets off on jerking people around. You are soooo vague when you comment you have zero insight in to anything..please enlighten us with your baseball knowledge.

  • PLite14

Bob, this is the last thing I will ever say to you, since you are obviously a lost cause. Don't try and project your misguided philosophical BS on anyone. Stop even trying to sound educated, because you are making yourself sound really stupid. How dare you even compare this 'issue' of yours with things Hitler said. Nobody is making anyone like The Show. Most people have had experiences with both games and made the informed decision on their own that The Show is a much better game.

That's fine that you don't like The Show, but saying untrue things about it is just making it worse. When people say 'The Show has better gameplay' it's based on factual evidence that the results of the game more closely resemble that of a real-life MLB game. When you say '2K has better gameplay' it's just a fanboyish lie based on, as you said it, your “infatuation” with MLB 2K.

When I look at 2K's series, I really wonder to myself what is their focus when designing this game. When I look at The Show, I wonder what AREN'T they focused on. Don't believe me, just read some of Brian's (SCEA developer) posts at OS:

    http://www.operationsports.com/forums/scea-spor

    http://www.operationsports.com/forums/scea-spor

I highly doubt 2K pays this much attention to detail.

  • NEfanman

I love this feature…of course I wanted more. An Old Fenway Park, Tiger Stadium, Olympic Stadium, Ebbetts Field, Memorial Stadium and a Comisky would of made it just that more sweeeter.

My congrats to game designers as I did follow suit and pre-order (which I never have done in the past). I just wonder how generic or non-generic the code will be. If a cheesy generic code it will be all over the internet in 5 minutes. Still a great feature as the POLO GROUNDS has to be my favorite 'Old-Time' ballpark played in video game seasons past.

    • Bravesfan

I agree. It would be cool if Sony took a page out of EASports (Tiger Woods) playbook and periodically released downloadable stadiums at a reasonable price. I know I would definitely buy them. In addition to the stadiums you mentioned, the Astrodome, Fulton County Stadium, Bakers Bowl, etc… just to name a few, would be awesome.

  • Bob is a Douche

You are truly a douche bag, Bob – truly truly truly.. Hopefully, you're just pullin' chains here and don't believe the wet shit drippin' outta your mouth. It's such horse shit. I've honestly never read such false statements about any video game in my life.

  • sandul

lol, someone faked bob. that's awesome!

  • sandul
