EA Sports (Not) Suing Over South Park Episode

In an update to a story posted last night EA Sports has contacted me in order to inform that they have no intention to sue over the South Park episode. The source of the story, Daily Informer, was inaccurate with the posting of the information or just flat out made it up.

“Reports that EA SPORTS plans to sue the creators of South Park are false.”

This certainly makes a lot more sense as I was initially really surprised at the idea they would sue. The show, given the demographic that watches, acted more as free promotion than anything that would be damaging to EA Sports.

Good to see EA isn't taking this too seriously. Like you said in the other article they put themselves in this position where they could take some heat for sticking by him.

i was skeptical when i read in that article how supposedly peter moore was brought in on discussing it like it was some huge deal. it was freakin south park, they make fun of everything.

copyright infringement maybe? otherwise i wouldnt see any reason theyd even think about suing over that episode.

It was good pub for EA. I mean who that watches South Park would have a problem with EA because of Tiger Woods? Prob not many if any at all.

EA felt the backlash and changed their tune. This is typical EA bullshit. They are gonna charge for this or that and the customer freaks. They then back down. Typically EA chickenshit bullshit. I still say fuck them!
