RB Draft Rankings

Here is the next set of positional rankings heading into the NFL Draft. This one focuses on the running backs. This is a relatively deep crop with guys available in the later rounds (or that may even go undrafted) that could contribute if put in the right system.

I will be posting up rankings focused on each position over the coming weeks. The lists may change as opinion adjusts or news comes out that affects the stock of the players. These rankings are based on my personal analysis of the players and how well they will translate to the pros along with where I’m projecting them to be taken.

1- CJ Spiller (Clemson)
Projection: 1st Round, Top 20
Good Fits: Seahawks, 49ers, Steelers

2- Ryan Matthews (Fresno State)
Projection: Mid 1st-Early 2nd
Good Fits: Texans, Chargers, Vikings, Bucs

3- Jonathan Dwyer (Georgia Tech)
Projection: 2nd Round
Good Fits: Browns, Chargers, Texans, Seahawks

4- Jahvid Best (California)
Projection: Late 1st-2nd Round
Good Fits: Vikings, 49ers, Texans, Patriots

5- Toby Gerhart (Standford)
Projection: Mid 2nd-3rd Round
Good Fits:  Patriots, Browns, 49ers, Lions

6- Ben Tate (Auburn)
Projection: Mid 2nd-3rd Round
Good Fits:  Patriots, Texans, Seahawks

7- Anthony Dixon (Mississippi State)
Projection: Mid 2nd-3rd Round
Good Fits: Chargers, Patriots, Texans

8- Montario Hardesty (Tennessee)
Projection: Late 2nd-3rd Round
Good Fits:  Browns, Texans, Seahawks

9- Dexter McCluster (Ole Miss)
Projection: Mid 2nd-3rd Round
Good Fits: Vikings, Patriots, Bengals

10- Joe McKnight (USC)
Projection: Late 2nd-4th Round
Good Fits: Vikings, Browns, Lions

11- LeGarrette Blount (Oregon)
Projection: 4th-6th Round

12- James Starks (Buffalo)
Projection: 4th-6th Round

13- Charles Scott (LSU)
Projection: 3rd-5th Round

14- Stafon Johnson (USC)
Projection: 5th-6th Round

15- Andre Dixon (UConn)
Projection: 6th Round-Undrafted

16- Chris Brown (Oklahoma)
Projection: 6th Round-Undrafted
