The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are in talks to direct Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Nicolas Cage is also negotiating to reprise his role as ‘Johnny Blaze’. Plot details weren’t discussed, and it’s still up in the air whether or not the characters from the first film will return. Shooting for the film is slated to begin this fall.

I think the choice of Neveldine and Taylor as directors is a good one. Even though Crank was over the top, I still found it entertaining. At this point a sequel couldn’t be any worse than the original. Despite grossing over grossed almost $230 million worldwide, the film wasn’t well received by fans or critics. We’ll see if this one is any better.
