Madden 11 Gets Online Quitting Fix

EA Sports released an update yesterday that changed the way wins and losses are reported online in Madden 11. One of the big issues so far with online play had been the ability for quitting to take place in the first half of ranked games and at any point in Madden Ultimate Team games with no penalty in the way of a loss being tagged to the quitter and no win being presented to the person quit on.

Now quitters will receive a loss no matter when they depart a ranked game and those quit on will receive a win. In MUT coins will be issued on a prorated basis when an opponent quits with the quitter losing a game of contract eligibility on their cards. This should resolve what had been an epidemic of quitting in both game types.

Though EA has not stated if the ability to play friends or challenge from a lobby room for ranked games will return they are now referring to it as a “bug” so hope is there that it will get switched back on. Reducing the lag effect that is hampering gameplay primarily as it pertains to the kicking meter would be the other big online problem that needs addressing and it appears is being looked into at least. Getting the quitting issue fixed though certainly took precedence for good reason and hopefully it is a sign they’ll continue to improve the online experience.

Played my first game online and I have to agree with the nay sayers. This is the worst online version of madden in some time. Despite the slow game speed which i find excrutiating, sicne I play on normal speed, the lag is pretty bad as well especially the lag time when trying to throw the ball. Needless to say I won’t be back to play any more games online. Now I understand why all the quitting is taken place.

Its not because you weren’t getting penalized for it, it’s because the online is so painful to endure that you just have to quit in order to save your sanity.

You should get a medal of honor for playing that many games online. I don’t know how you can stand it. It is so bad. I played my first online game yesterday and to tell the truth, I wanted to quit after the first 5 minutes of playing.

The fact the game is 7 min quarters makes it that much more excrutiating. I would have to categorize this as the worst online sports game since MLB: The Show 07.

Nah, I had to play 7 games that is just the bottom of a huge poster they were writing the names on. I happened to take that picture to remember the kids name that I beat in the finals so I could facebook him and play him online, he was pretty good.

Listen man I was a level 27 last year look up my stats on Madden ( ten 10) I lost 15 straight due to lag and my MANED corner or L.B and CPU -A.I Corners would never go up for the pick. The ball would fly clean over the helmet after smashing on A or Y they WOULD just sIt there LOOK LOST AND dO nothing, sometimes they would fall to the ground WITH NO CONTACT. IF there is nothing wrong WITH game why did E.A post on their Web site a Apology letter explaining all their Glitches and game errors issues they are addressing. they First 15 where all level 5 and 9 no rookies there. I played at a Division 1 school in the WAC conference. I know how to run and play defense. and all 17 losses felt scripted at times how do fumble 9 times in a game while protecting the ball Come on now no excuses pure Bull $HIT. This morning a smoked a 780 rating guy and i know a 520 recovering from all those loses. I drop five step and even 7 at times. Plus its Favre man 93 ranking and top 3 on passing. CAR 54

i just played a game i was about to take the lead in the first quarter and it said opponent quit. I got a loss what the hell.

Instead of just fixing the quitting issue,they to fix the defensive AI.Defense is non-existant.You can know what the other person is doing on offense and pick the perfect defensive play and they still get a good gain or score.its a joke.or then of course,you have the players who pick the one play over and over.You cant sack the QB at all or even get pressure.Every QB seems like they are 100% accurate.everything that is thrown is completed.That is unrealistic.Ive never seen a DL or LB not be able to speed rush around an OT or go through an OG in real life.The defense is slow and non reactive to anything.They need to have better defense so its a challenge to actually score.

My opponent has quit in my last 3 games (in the 2nd half) while getting beat pretty badly and I have not been awarded a win. (Madden 11 for the Wii)- is this a glitch? I’m choosing “Quit and Count” from the options after they disconnect. What is the problem here?

yea OTP on ps3 rthe mikes are garbage. EA just cant seem to get them rite on the ps3. every other company has but eas is falling behind on it. its a shame
