This morning Nintendo officially announced details for the upcoming release of the 3DS. The portable system with glasses-less 3D will go for $249.99 and release on Sunday March 27th.

Madden NFL Football for the 3DS had its initial features revealed back in November. Madden will include GameFlow play-calling as an option, a standard season mode, a 5-on-5 arcade mode, “Call Your Shots” which was initially introduced on the Wii version, and “Spotlight Moments” which first came about on the mobile version. It will also of course run in full 3D and has been optimized with that purpose in mind.

The price is set at $39.99 but the actual release date for the games were not given, just that they will be out during the launch window. It would not be surprising though for EA Sports to deliver the game alongside the system on 3/27. The only other sports game specifically mentioned at the Nintendo event was Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D. No details on that were provided however.
