Madden NFL 12 Roster Update #6 Details

by
Posted October 6th, 2011 at 1:15 pm

The post-week four roster update for Madden NFL 12 features over 400 roster, ratings, and equipment adjustments. As anticipated the big move comes with Calvin Johnson obtaining the elite “Clutch” player trait status while also getting a bump up by a single point to 96 overall.

No movement at the top as all 99 and 98 rated players remain the same – however Nnamdi Asomugha falls from 97 to 96, Jake Long drops from 97 to 95, and Ray Lewis moves up from 96 to 97. The largest leap goes to Colts LB Kavell Connor who was previously 72 and rises to 79. The news on Chad Henne being out for the season, and the Dolphins going for Sage Rosenfels as a replacement, came too late in the week to include.

The team with the most significant net gain in players rising vs those falling are the Buccaneers (+8). That is followed by the Panthers with (+7) and the Titans, Texans, Cowboys, Bengals, and Ravens (+6). On the losing side are the Browns (-4) and the Cardinals, Bears, Steelers, and Rams (-2).

Continue on for a look at the roster and ratings changes coming in tomorrows update and leave any thoughts in the comments!

how does chris harris go down when he is out due to an injury

    • Ghost of John Madden

      Injury, stamina, toughness.

  • Gruden

I’m somewhat satisfied with the Bucs update, although they missed Clayborn and Barber.

  • hobo

how in the hell dose elvis dumervil’s rating go down? he was pushing green bay’s tackles around all game long. i know we lost but dam! what a bout willis he had a good game rushing for over a hunderd yards on only 15 carriers, why didnt he get an up date?,  also how do you drop two o linemen down for not allowning a sack and running the ball well? it most be all dallas fan’s up dating these roster wtf!

  • Gruden

Brian Price also deserves a increase (Bucs)

  • bearSUCK

@chicagobearsdefense, you’re so ignorant. Before I get into that, stop being so bias and complaining about your weak bears that are about to get tore up by the Lions. Anyways, Hasselback is playing great football right now. Which is why he goes up, his oline just gives him enough time to find the open guy. He actually has a decent offense around him and look what happen, he does something good. Watch some football before talking…

  • Imsorry202

wassup with my bucs o line

    • XDADExCntyX305

Danny Moore is an dumb fuck, every body know Tampa bay Dline is there strength on D, but he drop bowers rating knowing hit was the best Dline man in the draft. Plus he’s ratings are garbage he have a 78 speed with a 82 acc and he ran a easy 4.46 in the 40 after have leg surgery. But nick fairly gets better speed and acc ratings not disrespect to nick but Danny is a dumb hit…. This is why so many people just drop this game

      • XDADExCntyX305

Lats not even mention Clayborn who is playing(ARE U SERIOUS) football, Danny Moore likely don’t know shit about football but the Tampa bay rookie scouts do cause their Dline looks revamped compared to previous years, I don’t know his name but that Dline coach Tampa got from the Minnesota is sure as Hell paying his does

      • Logic

Not only that they are the youngest team in the league and they are the slowest if not one of the slowest team all around and on a game where speed kills that makes them pretty much un-usable if not very suspect to the long ball and recievers suspect to jams because of their speed if the corner is faster. They don’t reflect a team that his winning right now.

  • Keith.

Hey Pasta, when are you going to do an article about the bitch slap that EA took in the lawsuit brought by Madden’s original creator?  Here’s a link to the story from October 4, 2011:

    http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2011/10/3/us-court-electronic-arts-foiled-in-attempt-to-renege-on-contract.aspx

This could end up costing EA hundreds of millions in a judgement or settlement.

While you’re at it, you might also do a story on Bill Russell, who’s the latest to sue the NCAA and EA for use of his image.  That story’s from today.

    http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-10-06/ex-nba-star-russell-sues-ncaa-electronic-arts-for-image-use.html

Or are you too busy writing about 2k12’s “flaws”?

    • Ghost of John Madden

He did the story on Madden’s creator months ago.

      Pay attention

      • Keith.

If my memory serves, his original story mocked the lawsuit.  Now that the lawsuit has survived EA’s motion to dismiss, it’s a lot more serious affair for EA and, I would think, deserves a follow up piece.

Naturally, since it’s Pasta’s site, I’d expect the follow up to again doubt the merits of the lawsuit, but it would at least give me an opportunity to say that the ruling on the motion to dismiss is a BIG deal and must have EA sweating.

In short, I’m the only that seems to be paying attention here, as Pasta is either asleep at the wheel or being told by EA not to say anything.

        • Ghost of John Madden

          You remember incorrectly.

Pasta mocked EA for still using some of the original code that was developed twenty years and 4 generatons ago.

  • JKlub

Can we get Chimdi Chekwa’s height updated? Currently 5’11 should be 6’0. Also, can we finally get Carl Nicks’ age fixed? His birthdate is  5/14/1985. Thanks.

  • Wolf

    flacco should have gone down.

    ngata / reed up.

why did evans go down when he hasnt played????

    • Ghost of John Madden

      Because Lee Evans sucks

  • i hate donny moore

    Donny more at it again

  • http://twitter.com/HereComesDaBoom bOOm

These should be 4 games updates. there is more of a trend in 4 weeks to make a more accurate assessment. +1 this week and -3 the next because a player fumbled.

  • xSmoothKriminal

How does chris Houston get an increase? He made one play at the end of the game. He got USED the whole rest of the game. if anything staying the same would suffice, but the young cowboy receivers
were just making him look like a high school player.

  • Bdjaran

how do players decrease when they get injured or dont have a qb to throw them the ball.  Madden 12  the game is great.  But the numbnutz doing the ratings…..FAIL.

Eagles 1-3 and thats all thats getting lowered.  DT hurt and cole hurt.
Bills   3-1 but no oline upgrades wtf
Lions 4-0  No oline or defensive upgrades
Pitt 1-3  where r the downgrades….defense sucks and oline cant block
Titians 3-1 and beat the Ravens where is the love cause 77 ranked isnt where they should be especially wit da best oline.
Bengals has 1 of the better defenses in the game and a begining stud in WR no love.

Its 4 games in….there needs to be a shake up in these ratings to show teams actual records.  Stop these weekly ratings and do quarterly but the ratings team would _uck that up too.

Namdi been beat every week but no drop off yet.  Spend the $350 to get the NFL ticket and watch some games…..heck even the redzone or nfl countdown….skip bayles……something….wtf.

This cant be what 4 weeks in the season gets u……And how does Hightower gets a decrease when he hurts his shoulder……if u say he got hurt and warrants a decrease…..then where are the other decreases for the other players.

Harrison out, Cole, Dixon(DT for eagles), Tate, Henne( u lowered Marshall but not the QB but if the QB sucks how can Marshall get the ball??????

U cant run the ball wit the bills line being so weak.  The broncos cant run so they line should be weak.  Pitt oline strength should be lowered like crazy.  Havent ran the ball for 100 yards in 4 weeks.

Stop looking at fantasy scores for ratings and do the games.  Play wit other teams other than the ones u keep giving good ratings to when they arent up to par.

  • Matty Felp

The fact that Brian Orakpo isn’t in the low 90s is blasphemous

  • SChug

Packers one update for one point, what about Charles Woodson?! After as great a game as anybody has ever had at qb youd think they’re would be some kind of increase for Rodgers, either higher deep accuracy or speed or anything, after that dominat e of a win they get one upgrade point for our 3rd option on offense it’s ridiculous

  • Brickman

    Hey hewego!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No love for Jordan Babineaux????? Havin a pretty solid year on a pretty good defense no? Somewhere around a 90 yard pick 6 gets him Zero love… Webb got 3 points for a pick 6 and his good start, well deserved I might add.

Also, what am I missing with the some of the Oakland Raider and Tennessee Titan Offensive lines? Wisniewski and Roos both should be improving weekly at this point. Roos hasn’t seen one rating change.

Oakland is leading the league with only 2 sacks allowed… Pretty solid run game no?
The Titans are tied for 3rd with 4 allowed.

  • Guest

The main thing MADDEN really needs to do for next year’s game is to completely overhaul their ratings system. Instead of having one guy handle all the ratings, have a committee do it. Or however you do it, do it completely differently from the way it’s been done. Ratings will be better, more realistic, and you’ll miss less things and be completely oblivious of less things.

    • Brickman

Seriously… 9 times outta 10 I feel like I’m watching 3x the amount of football the people doing this do.

It’s like they read just stats or somethin, or just watch highlights.

If your going to to this you should be watching every game possible, turn on the freakin NFL redzone channel or somethin… Go read some websites and shit done by people that actually know what they’re talkin about. It’s like Gruden is doing the roster updates sometimes. It’s gotten gradually better, but still not takin it far enough. Stop watching NFL’s fastest 3 minutes and turn on some games. Pay a bit more attention to detail. When Darren McFadden goes flying through a hole the size of a mack truck see who the people are making the blocks. When Matt Hasselbeck has 3 days to throw the ball try and figure out why.

You would think because when it’s just one person he doesn’t have to be accountable to any one, but if it’s a staff or team of people then it can be different if a person gives or wants to give a certain player a sertain rating they would have to give an accurate account on why that person deserves that ratings and take a look at that person stats and their career and consistency to see whether they get doubled or drae extra attentntion etc because this game is faulty in many areas in regards to that. You can pretty much light up any defense with any QB you can burn any corner regardless of overall with any bum as long as he is fast not saying that can’t happen but a superior corner with an 89/90 rating and 88 should still be able more than less of the time hold his own against a 69 overall reciever with 97 speed. Now not to say that he can’t get beat but it shouldn’t be a point of vulnerability like it is in Madden

As always it’s all about the Pats and Cowboys pretty much the only reason Green Bay gets love is because they are smoking the competition but if they wasn’t they wouldn’t get any love wither, but its all about the Cowboys and Pats that’s the aim of EA to make those 2 teams the best teams regardless of what kind of year they are having.

San Fran better actually get some love in the next update… ALEX SMITH is the 3rd highest rated passer in the NFL, Rodgers and Brady are the others. Kolb is still rated higher, garbage, so Donny Moore needs to give this team a good bump in all areas! THEY DESTROYED the Bucs…….  Let’s bump up that front 7 on defense who this year have allowed 174 to starting RB’s.
