The Walking Dead Season Two Premiere Sets New Ratings Highs

Last year The Walking Dead became the highest rated cable show of all-time. The second season season premiere last night shattered those numbers as it bought in 7.3 million viewers for the first showing and 11 million total for the evening when counting the encore. The critical 18-49 demo had a 4.2 rating breaking previous cable records.

The premiere drew rave reviews but reaction amongst viewers has been decidedly more mixed. While I enjoyed the episode the pacing was hampered severely by the number (and length) of commercial breaks – and the several plot contrivances proved to be quite bothersome.
