NCAA Football 13 Loading Time Evaluation

The NCAA Football series has proven to be the worst culprit of slow loading times this generation. Relief unfortunately hasn’t come with NCAA Football 13 as the waits are comparable with recent years. Some slight improvement have been made when loading into games but on the flip side booting to the main menu takes even longer. As usual installing to the hard drive on the Xbox 360 provides some notable savings.

Install time- 13:48
Install size- 7.8 GB

Loading Times
Boot to main menu- 79 seconds disc vs 70 seconds HDD (10 seconds)
Load into Play Now- 45 seconds disc vs 30 seconds HDD (15 seconds)
Load into Play Now w/ Teambuilder- 50 seconds disc vs 37 seconds HDD (13 seconds)
Leave Game to Menu- 14 seconds disc vs 10 seconds HDD (4 seconds)
Load into Practice- 40 seconds disc vs 28 seconds HDD (12 seconds)
Load into Saved Franchise- 7 seconds disc vs 6 seconds HDD (1 second)
Load into Saved RTG/Heisman- 7 seconds disc vs 6 seconds HDD (1 seconds)

NCAA has been able to address laggy navigation and menus for the most part but the lengthy load times remain troublesome. The initial boot process is now 20 seconds longer than it was going back to NCAA 11 while going into and out of games has gotten quicker (though only by a couple seconds). Installing to the hard drive is recommended for the reduced noise and wear and tear put on the system in addition to any improvements seen in loading times.

I thought it was just me. But now i know evreyone has the same problems. I installed it to my 360 HD as soon as i opened it.

Thanks for the installation tip. I just hope I have enough space to do it. Any idea when we’ll get named rosters under your gamer tag, Pasta?

Looking like possibly by the end of the week – or shouldn’t be much longer.

I REALLY hope that EA already has another team working on the next gen football titles, that dont even talk to the current team. Whole new engine, Whole new interface…whole new everything because its just downright embarrassing. It better not take the whole generation this time to get features that were in their 10 years ago either, fucking bums

It’s not that bad, dude. This game has 123 base teams, which is way more than any other game beside FIFA. And each team has 60+ players, plus all those (worthless) gimmicks. There’s a lot to load up. I just start up my game and go grab a Coke while it loads the main menu. Just have a little patience. It’s better to have this than nothing, like the college basketball fans.

Absolutly, I mean, whats a few seconds? Take your time & enjoy the game!

2k would make a football game if EA didnt…or atleast some other company would. Noone bought college basketball, a lot more people buy college football than college basketball. Im not even that upset about loading times…ya mostly every other game loads quicker and it might be 2012 when there shouldn’t be much loading times at all but im not worried about the game as a whole

Amen, brother. EA said this generation that their football games were “built from the ground up,” but I’ve never bought that. New everything — including an entirely new team — would suit me just fine.

can you do this on PS3?

      • Brian

Any reason why I can’t sign into the Online Pass? Code worked fine when it was input into the server.

I really wonder what the hell is being loaded…… Bugs? This game should load in about 5 seconds
