Posted November 15th, 2012 at 1:15 pm

The roster update for Madden NFL 13 following week 10 of the season is scheduled to release by Saturday morning for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. The update includes the movement of Nick Perry, Brian Bulaga, Richard Marshall, and Quincy Black to the IR. Ray Edwards has been dropped in ratings and released by the Falcons and the Jets let go of Aaron Maybin. Nick Foles moves up 2 points to 71 overall as he takes over for the injured Michael Vick. Byron Leftwich and Jason Campbell have also been shifted into the starting role.

Calvin Johnson is back to being rated 99 – after sitting a point lower for only a few weeks – while Patrick Willis has dropped now out of the group of 99s. The Falcons got some significant increases with Matt Ryan up 2 to 95 and Tony Gonzalez up 3 to 92 but did have Michael Turner drop 2 to 87. Charles Johnson, Jimmy Graham, and Von Miller go up to 96, A.J. Green to 95, Richard Sherman to 92, and Tim Jennings to 89. Cam Newton and Jay Cutler both drop 2 to 86, Eli Manning falls for the second consecutive week and now rests at 94, Mark Sanchez goes down to 75, and Demetress Bell falls 2 more to 69.

This week the league nets 41 players going up in ratings vs down. The teams benefiting the most are the Titans (+10), Cowboys and Buccaneers (+9), and Broncos (+8). Those hit the hardest are the Dolphins (-9) followed by the 49ers, Chargers, Bears, and Panthers (-7).

Continue on for the full list of changes coming with the next Madden NFL 13 roster update and leave any thoughts in the comments!

  • Gunt

They need to get Greg Cosell somehow involved in the rating process

  • hov

Impressive how Madden can do updates like this every week for a league with so many players and transactions and 2K cant add players that should be on teams or do ratings changes or anything. Makes them look more pathetic.

    • smsixx

Im just as pissed off about the lack of 2k roster updates as you…
But its just funny how you can read these stories and everyone finds something to bitch about…I guarentee within the next 2-3 hous the posts will start flying on here about how these new Madden ratings “suck” and EA should not do ratings chages every week.
      It’s like clockwork.

    • Keith.

Lol…like ratings actually mean anything in Madden. The only purpose ratings play in Madden is they continue to keep douchebag donnie moore employed.

      • Khadeem

so wat do ratings are roster updates mean in 2k then?

        • EJTwice

Why wouldn’t the ratings not mean anything?

      • Get a life Keith

It’s still kind of important to have all the players on the roster. Even if ratings don’t mean anything.

  • DirtyBirds

……. i have seen all the roster updates and from what i seen he love decreasing the Falcons

  • http://www.facebook.com/cush2push Geoff Wightman

I still don’t get how Mark Sanchez still has a rating over 60

  • Mason Drews

Eli is still too high, should be around 90-91 at the moment

  • http://www.facebook.com/swifter99 Alex Swift

    New Orleans is +15

  • HaloUnion

The Falcons ratings are ridiculous. McClain dropped? At the absolute worst, he should be a 67, but more realistically I would put him at 72. Turner should drop 2 more points to an 85. It amazes me that Tony Gonzalez is underrated in Madden after being the best tight end of all time and playing as good as he ever has (just about). He should be a 95. Also, its funny how the Falcons always break even +/- despite going 8-0 and as soon as we lose a game we drop a ton in the ratings. Mostly, I won’t complain because a few of those players were overrated and never should have been that high in the first place. My biggest complaint is the dropping of William Moore. He should be an 88. The guy is crazy underrated.

  • joe

So the 49ers tie and they net -7…..makes sense

  • Jarod

I like how Danny Watkins dropped two points yet he wasn’t even active last week (due to injury)

  • CrispierCupid

Cutler dropped 2 points??? The man threw two interceptions (one of them was when he was concussed) against one of the best defenses in the NFL, and he would have also had a TD pass if marshall didnt drop it. Then, Matt Schaub has a similar game (1 td,2 ints) and only drops one to an 89. Donny Moore just blows my mind,

  • YOUR A JOKE

I tried to keep my cool for last couple years but DUMB ASS HOW THE FUCK you drop Geathers and Johnson and the d-line as a whole put constant pressure on Manning Geathers had 2 sacks the and because Tate fumbled on a hard hit doesn’t mean he should get a carry drop Dalton had 4 tds but did you give him 4 point no the FUCK you didn’t your a FUCKING JOKE your ratings isn’t no where near true to what’s actually going on in the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YOUR A JOKE

    • I_speak_real

Dude shut the hell up.. did u really beleive dalton was going to get a 4point boost .. get real bengals are shit.. once u lose to the browns.. you lose your reputation no matter who you beat before or after.. you guys are sad

      • you and him are jokes

No you tramp I was making a point that 1 fumble in one game doesn’t mean you should instantly get a decrease I was comparing a positive to a negative in other words 1 fumble equals 2 point decrease and 4 tds no picks equals 1 point increased

      • you and him are jokes

And another thing whore Bengals browns is a rival all records go out the window

        • I_speak_real

Are you mad because the bengals beat a struggling giants.. ok go ahead and be mad no one cares mf.. the browns are the browns .. division or not.. the bengals are ass

So r the Saints ass for losing to the Chiefs?

        • I_speak_real

          Yes

      • Cereal_22

just bought the game & updated my rosters but Lamar Miller’s (RB Miami) jersey is still #26,,,anyone got anything on this ?

  • BucsFan24/7

I’m actually please with this years ratings. Every year Donny screws Tampa bay over and now were finally getting the right ratings. I’m still upset about mason foster being under 80speed when we have the fastest defense in the nfl. Also ronde barber is having an amazing year and his speed is still a 83… I won’t gripe too much because I agree with most of the ratings but I’m still upset about foster and barber’s speed

    • I_speak_real

Ok lets get real ronde is old and slow as dirt.. foster combine results were hidious.. i understand u are a bucs fan but calm down

    • bucsfan since 2000

      Agreed

  • http://twitter.com/Tampa2Coach Mr. Lewis

Wow Bears take first loss in 2 months by 7 points to a 8-1 team and 12 players get a decrease, that’s interesting. but those 5 increases are gonna go a long way into me dominated, ever since they gave Tim Jennings that 90+ Man coverage it’s been a real problem, now that he’s gone up 2 I can’t even imagine what else they gonna boost, maybe put his zone coverage over 90+ too, or give him 70+ catching. I feel really bad for Niners fans tho, Alex Boone and John Goodwin have been dominating all year and no increases, they have one bad game and they get a decrease, LOL Donny’s doing them dirty. I actually love it tho cuz if i play 8 online games a day, I end up playing the niners maybe 4 times, ppl love playing with those Niners online, so the longer Donny takes to give that O-line their just due the happier I am. The fact that Mario Wiliams gets a boost and now is 95 is such a crime and the type of thing that makes me not wanna play Madden anymore. But on Serious note, they taking real long to show those Buccs love, Gerald McCoy needs to be HIgher than Suh, those 2 lbs Foster & Lavonte Daivd should be 85+ Mark Barron should be at the very least a better run defender.

  • ButterBean

How the hell does Nate Solder go down again? He’s been great as a run-blocker and he’s barely let any sacks this season. Our o-line has been great in pass protection and the few times Brady gets pressure is usually up the middle. Solder should be 83-85 overall.

  • Spezo

Can someone please explain why the Bears and Texans both saw so many decreases when both team played in the worst weather of any team this year! Really??? NO team would have had great performances in that weather! WTF!!! They really need to look at how they judge the ratings, this is just ridiculous!

  • Nate

I usually never say a word about these rating updates. Really never has bothered me till today. I am a huge Lions fan, and for years lived with the understanding the we suck. Therefor suck in Madden as well. Now that we are finally relevant, I take more notice to these. I watch every game from kick-off till the final whistle. I am a season ticket holder so I haven’t missed a game in over 8 years. Watching last weeks game, two things really are bothering me about this update. 1st is the increase to the Lions Jeff Backus and the decrease to the Vikings Jared Allen. Backus (just like every game he has played against Allen) was completed dominated by Allen, to the point we had to keep a Tight end in pass protection on his side the whole second half. How Moore can justify dropping Allen is beyond me. Let alone giving a boost to Backus. 2nd is the Dropping of Suh. While Suh isn’t fulling up the box score, he is playing extremely good football. The whole D-line can contribute most of there success to him. Mostly Fairly as he is hat on hat 90% of the time. Suh commands a double team on every down. Our D-line as a group is playing above average. Its out shit secondary that is the problem (could be scheme as Gunther is the worst D coordinator in the NFL). Now do they get instant pressure every snap? No, but most game plans but together by the opposing team is to attack the loose coverage on the outside in a 3 step drop. Anything 5-7 step always involves keeping 1 extra blocker in pass protection. The secondary as done a decent job of keeping the big pass plays in check. But when you look, almost every week the opposing QB has be damn near 70% completion percentage, with 225+ yards. I could go on and on, at the end of the day Moore hasn’t watched a game all year. He looks at stat lines and thinks that is the justification for the increase/decrease.

    • I_speak_real

I actually didnt even read this cuz it was a huge essay

    • Chiryder

I stopped at “Now that we are finally relevant,” You’re not. You just think you are.

    • Pacoheadley

You are obviously not a real Lions fan then. Backus struggle a bit, yes, but for the season, he has been a top 10 pass blocking tackle in football. All of his struggles are in the running game. Suh did play a poor game, although him and Fairly have done awesome overall this year. Our DEs have been below average at best this season.

  • Dominic

The bears lost by 7 to arguably the best team in the AFC without Jay Cutler the second half and they had a ton of people drop overall. Looked like a great defensive outing to me, I dont see why they keep moving Bear defenders down.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sean-Welch/100000901651980 Sean Welch

I’m more pissed about the offensive players that went down. A bunch of defensive players went up.

  • rasool

come on now the rams d-fence was outstanding against the 49ers but the whole d-fence drop in numbers whats that about

  • http://twitter.com/MattRyanE O.G Bobby Johnson

Love how falcons fans are STILL bitching even though overrated ass Matt Ryan is now a 95

  • http://www.facebook.com/dw.ross2 Dw Ross

Chris Johnson 90 is a joke and shows complete bias he’s the 2nd best RB since he’s step in the league he’s never average under 4ypc or had a season rushing under 1,000 yards and tops all RB’s in rushing yards since 2008-09, has never missed a game and this year he’s averaging 5.1ypc has run for 100yrds against 3 of the top 6 run defenses in the league and is 4th in rushing with 862 that beats out Jamal Charles, Lesean McCoy, Mat Forte, Ray Rice, Frank Gore, Steven Jackson, and MJD you got to be kidding me he’s a GREAT RB

    • http://twitter.com/Arnold_dajar Arnold Andujar

      numbers do lie.

      • http://www.facebook.com/dw.ross2 Dw Ross

not in this case CJ has earn a 95 or higher what has any running back besides AP done better then him??

      • Chiryder

numbers don’t lie. People do. aka how people interpret them and/or gather them.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sean-Welch/100000901651980 Sean Welch

He’s got 99 speed what else to you want? They can’t give him 99 trucking because he’s not that kind of rb. He sucks at catching the football. He’s also a piece of shit that decided not to do anything after he got paid. He has to earn that rating back 1 point a week if he even gets that.

  • Bill

How the fuck did luck drop in carrying when he had 2 rushing TDs?

    • Wematanye

Carrying has nothing to do with rushing TDs idiot

      • Chiryder

He’s got 7 fumbles on the season.

  • Diehard madden fan

I’ve retired madden for right now getting closer to Jesus and working on my cdl license finding better stuff to do with my time just got tired of these stressful roster updates i had to just face it their not going to get better but worst.

Cutler with a 2 point decrease after playing only one half of the game in bad, windy, rain conditions against an 8-1 team? …and 12 Bears decreasing? Did they get blown out or something like the Giants did against the Bengals or something?

  • EJTwice

Whoa! Broncoes with at at least 12 players getting a boost in back to back weeks! Take it easy there Donny!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sean-Welch/100000901651980 Sean Welch

The Bears didn’t deserve the -7 ass raping that Donny Moore gave them. They lost to an 8-1 team in the rain by 1 TD. I will say that Kellen Davis deserved it though. I can’t believe how highly rated he is(79) but I’ll take it.

  • Lee

Any idea on when the next madden offline connected careers update will be made?

  • SnubbbS

I love how Ridleys trucking goes from 96 to 92 in an update where his overall is actually raised.

  • SnubbbS

I love how Ridleys trucking goes from 96 to 92 in an update where his overall is actually raised.

  • Chiryder

AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! The Bears DON’T GIVE UP A SACK!!! and their O-line DROPS!!!! They give up one touchdown (off of a turnover) AND THEY LOSE -7 POINTS?! Wtf are you SMOKING?! Lance Louis held the league leader in sacks TO NO SACKS and he drops?!? COME ON!!!!

  • Cereal_22

I just bought the game & updated my rosters but Lamar Miller’s (RB Miami) jersey is still #26,,,anyone got anything on this ? What the ??

  • Mr.Spock

This guy must hate the Falcons. The Saints own them… But the reality is that Atlanta is 2nd & goal from the 1 yrd line away from winning that game. If they score there & win, do this many Atl players still get decreases? These updates are foolish.

  • Concerned

No changes at all to ANY player for the Redskins? Seems odd…

  • Brad

Bruce Carter rated the same as Victor Butler…… HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA
