When it was announced that the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 would feature Arnold Palmer along with Woods, that Bobby Jones would be on the cover of the “Historic Edition”, and that Jack Nicklaus would be a pre-order exclusive (Best Buy), it was safe to assume that the game would feature some sort of historically-driven mode. EA Sports has now confirmed that by announcing the new Legends of the Majors mode.

Legends of the Majors will involve taking a created golfer from the 1930′s to present day and facing off against names like Seve Ballesteros, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino, Palmer, Jones, and Woods. Each challenge will be unique to its time and not just in who is involved but with special presentation and how the game will actually play differently. Continue on for a video teasing the mode with the introduction of the legends.

LOL, Cool more whtie guys to play with…

Naw but seriously I don’t see historic mode for golf being a big selling point. I bet old school Nascar racers would generate more pub, but I don’t see how you could stat a race car driver

According to vgchartz, this game only sold 120,000+ copies on PS3 last year and another 180,000+ on the 360 here in the US. Frankly, I’m surprised EA still insists on pumping out a new version of this game every year. With those kind’ve sales numbers, I guarantee EA isn’t plowing a whole lot of $$$ into development of this year’s game.
