Madden NFL 25 Cover Voting Starts Early

Apparently because the three month long cover vote process for NCAA Football 14 could not be made more irritating given that it comes to a close at the end of the week, EA Sports has extended the campaign for the cover of Madden NFL 25. Slated to officially begin next Monday with two brackets of 32 players (legends in one and current stars in the other) the company is making the last slot for the former determined by a “play-in” vote.

The matchup features Jerry Rice vs Cris Carter with support being cast through the Twitter hashtags #Madden25Rice and #Madden25Carter. Thankfully besides this one “play-in” the rest of the voting for the cover will go through the same ESPN SportsNation page utilized in past years rather than relying on social media tallies. That a 49er and Viking are up against each other for the last spot suggests it will not be a bracket consisting of one representative from each team.

Can’t wait to see what amazing players they chose this year for the Panthers. It’ll end up being something completely retarded like Hangartner and Ray Caruth. Then EA will be like: “We thought they’re were good players, LOL.”

still hate the fact that it’s called madden 25. put 25 year anniversary on the box but still think calling it 25 is stupid. what are they gonna do for the madden that comes out in 2025?

  I don’t think they’re concerned with the name of the game in 10 years. They could simply just switch to Madden 2025.

Are we really still complaining about the name?! Who really cares, it’s just a name, people still refer the series as Madden. You never say, “Hey, let’s play Madden NFL 13!” you say “Hey, let’s play Madden!”

As for the candidates, I really think we’ll be surprised at how the voting goes. Yes, cover athlete voting isn’t enjoyable for those who work in the media, but for the mainstream, it’s a lot of fun.

Perhaps, people like Pasta are just still a little upset that Seahawks fans were up for the cover vote and couldn’t get past their first-round match-up. That had to have hurt.

Why does Jerry Rice player model look like he’s on steroids? And if Adrian Peterson doesn’t deserve to be on the cover after the year he had (especially after revealing he played with a sports hernia since week 10!) then no one should be on the cover.
