Sequel Confirmed for Pacific Rim

Since the release of Pacific Rim last summer, fans of the film have hoped for any positive news on the potential for a sequel. The film was successful but not a huge hit domestically, grossing just over $100 million, but worldwide it raked in over $400 million total which was the main reason why any sequel would even be considered. Now director Guillermo del Toro has announced that there will in fact be a sequel. Its projected release date is April 7, 2017.
