When I sat down yesterday to play the afternoon game in the Cards-Cubs series in The Show Live mode, I did a double-take when I saw A.J. Pierzynski starting the game at Catcher for the Cards. I hadn’t yet seen the news that the Cards had picked him up when I sat down to play the game, and was immediately reminded just how great of a mode The Show Live is (as if I needed a reminder). Having up to date rosters and stats any time I want to play is awesome — sure hope that mode’s somewhere on the horizon for the only NFL game on the market.

And staying on the topic of The Show, I finally was able to place in the weekly Top 10 that somebody at OS has been keeping all year for people playing the Challenge of the Week mode (great stuff). Only took me 2 months to do it, but there’s a nice feeling of accomplishment that goes with getting on the list. I thought this week’s challenge with Mike Trout was going to be easy, but the lefty that’s doing the throwing (Glen Perkins with the Twins, who I’d never even heard of) is bringing 97 mph cheese, and I’ve got a terrible high score to show for it. Definitely won’t be making the standings again this week so I’ll brag while I can.
