Press Row is on location with a once-in-a-hardly-ever-maybe-never-again-really event. Richard Grisham will be at my house tonight and we’ll be streaming Madden, chatting along with viewers, and playing other familiar personalities online! Join us for the live stream which we anticipate to begin around 1145ET/845PT. That’s of course if Twitch is up and running which right now appears questionable. Follow on Twitter for updates and on Twitch as well.

[Update] The archived event can be watched below! Presented in two parts.

Pasta, have you tried connected franchise (online)? The games don’t even save when you play an opponent. Do you know if EA has any plans of an update for this?

I’ve heard about that from a few others, yet to test it myself, but I’m sure EA is aware and it sounds like a server-side issue they can address immediately. I’ll try to find out what’s going on with that.

Thanks for the quick response. I’m leaning towards Xbox One this time around so I can watch the game and play Madden at the same time now that they have fixed the mixer with snapping. Surprised more people aren’t discussing this. But graphics and frame rates are the same?

The 2:10 mark of the 2nd video, where you are using the defender and rushing (which to me is the ONLY reason to use that angle) shows the benefits and added fun of the pass rush, and the annoyance and nearly impossibility of then switching off to adjust to stop the deep pass. For competitive guys like myself, not sure how that camera angle is going to be useful.

Yeah it can make things a little difficult at times, maybe more vulnerable deep, but I still like it quite a bit. There was one play in the first game (video #1) where I hit the QB, forced the fumble, picked it up and ran for TD from that behind the defense perspective. It made it even more exciting seeing it play out that way.

It has it’s nice points. It’s a very good addition for most players that will pick up a copy of the game. But for guys playing in competitive leagues I’m not sure they will be willing to spend too many plays with that angle. They may say they will, but I’m not buying in.

Is the game more exciting than the Kevin Hart Franco commercial?

Any thoughts on preference of PS4 vs. Xbox One? Which controls better?

    • http://pastapadre.com/ pastapadre

It’s hard for me to quantify, but I do feel like the XB1 has controls that are a bit tighter. This was the case last year too. I felt like I’ve got a little more player control there. I suspect it’s just the tension of the controller stick that’s difference and it’s not actually about the game.

Oops, posted in wrong thread originally. Thanks for the quick response.
