The voting for various categories in the Pastapadre Community Awards continues with the Best Presentation opening up today. NBA 2K will be looking to win for a remarkable fifth straight year with FIFA 15 and NHL 15 the challengers this time around.

This is the only Community Awards category that has been swept by a single series. The authentic broadcast presentation is still a strength and that includes commentary though Steve Kerr remaining on the broadcast team hurt it somewhat. A pre-game studio intro featuring Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal represented the biggest addition. Also necessary to factor in was the brand new storyline and NBA player “Mentors” that were added to MyCareer.

With FIFA 15 the franchise continued to deliver the emotion of the “moment” better than any other sports game. From the commentary, to the crowd shots, the replays, and the emotion demonstrated by the players. The in-stadium atmosphere has been electric and dynamic and small touches on the pitch made the big moments stand out even more this year. Premier League licensing brought an authentic feel to those matches that had been lacking.

While NHL 15 was in general a massive disappointment it did show promise in the area of presentation. Doc Emrick and Eddie Olczyk were brought in to be the new commentary team and game intros included actual video of the two which proved to be a much better tactic than the digital representations of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms in Madden for example. The new authentic NBC presentation package was a success as well.
