Teaser Trailer for NHL 18

Noticeably absent from this year’s EA Play/E3 will be NHL 18. While NHL has generally always had some presence in the mid-June events this time around EA Sports is holding back anything substantial until the NHL Awards on June 21. To keep from being completely forgotten with everything else happening the company released a teaser trailer that gives practically nothing away but does potentially hint at a more arcade slant coming to the franchise.

NHL 18 won’t be transitioning to Frostbite this year, which almost certainly means there won’t be the introduction of a story mode, however many of the anticipated new features leaked months ago. The game will likely have added a 3-on-3 arcade mode, expansion in Franchise, and for gameplay a Defensive Skill Stick and teammate AI improvements.

    Where’s the winter classic ?

What’s with the new NBA Live 18 trailer? that EA is letting Youtubers put on their channel.

Why is EA sharing everything through the community now? instead of their own channel.

Could it be so they get less hate ? and well respected youtubers actually vouch for it?

and less hate since a lot of people look up to these youtubers and some have million subscribers.

you can say what you want Pasta but I think EA is wising up now and they are definitely releasing NBA live 18 but they are promoting it different then before which is actually smart.

    • Even if you want to look at it that way, they’re giving away stuff to them in exchange for positive coverage of a game that none of them have even yet to play. So it’s some publicity but without any credibility behind it. Carefully selected strings of highlight clips means very little. We’ve had that, things like E3 presentations, and so on released prior to the other Live’s being cancelled too (which I can’t imagine happening again but skepticism is fair because of that).

We all know you’re a EA fanboy, you come here and stick up for Live every chance you get, so your opinion and view of the matter is skewed.

EA is doing nothing different. They let the Game Changers have a little free coverage all the time, and a 15 second celebration/facial animation showcase isn’t really anything to write home about.

        Play games not companies.

Sigh. I think this year is really going to cement the fact that EA’s vision for the NHL series is going in the absolute wrong direction. I really wish 2k would get back in the game.

Yeah, 2k got killed with right stick shooting, and never really recovered after EA introduced it. Which is sad, because 2k simply was a better game to that point [hey, that sounds kinda familiar…]

NHL is basically in a rut at this point.

You can screw the people over for so long until the blind sheep finally decide to wake up.

EA preview clips is the only thing that EA is ever good at making and like always the actual game will be horrible.
