Downloadable content being prepared for MM08
January 24, 2008 by pastapadre

Last year March Madness had the well received “Selection Sunday Bracket Pack” downloadable content that included the official 65 team bracket with accurate seedings for tournament play, the Final Four court, and updated team ratings. That went for a very reasonable 250 MS points (approximately $3). There hasn’t been specific news yet regarding a “Bracket Pack” this year but it seems likely that it will be done again.
What I have found out is that an authentic arena is going to be added to 08 via downloadable content and that it will be free. It should be available prior to the tournament in March. One of the following schools will have their arena added to the game: USC, Virginia, Oregon, Arkansas, Purdue, or Georgia Tech.
The decision is being made through an online voting process. Visit the official website for the game to vote for your choice!

They should add more to NBA Live 08 as well but I’m in lala land with that one. I would much rather see new jerseys in XCH 2k8 and maybe some much newer stadiums in fifa etc
Yeah ummm…shouldn’t the game have just shipped with authentic stadiums? Typical EA.
Why the hell is EA waisting time with a feature that improves game play (IMO).
I don’t care about no silly arena being added.
They should release a patch that helps to make editing rosters go by quicker. As it stands right now game play should be their main focus if they ever release any type of patch.
These cats aren’t ever going to focus on what’s important and what’s not when in comes to these damn sports games. They want the arena’s to look 100% accurate…..screw that give me game play 1st and the arena’s can be all screwed up as far as I’m concerned.
Seriously, how many people are playing the game and woorying about how arena looks when they are driving to the basket or shooting a jumper.
[…] and wants people to vote on which arena they will replicate. Here’s PastaPadre’s article about it: Downloadable content being prepared for MM08 | pastapadre.com I’d say the game could probably use some gameplay patches first, but I think this is a pretty cool […]

Would the dev team love to “fix” gameplay issues? Absolutely. But these two things aren’t related at all. Things are always harder to fix than people realize.
We simply have this in the plan as something that is doable. We are addressing some things in the update that I’ll detail at a later date.
That’s good to hear they may have something at a later date for game play.
I could only hope it’s something that makes editing rosters go by quicker. I guess I’m just frustrated right now because it’s taking me forever to finish up my rosters to the game the to play more the way I want to see it play.
But I realize they can fix everything because it’s not that easy. I just see so much potential in this game and arena’s wasn’t an issue for me.
I’m gonna start calling them AE, because they are obviously running ass backwards.
I wouldn’t get too upset, guys. We’re just hearing about the arena addition first so they get enough votes to make sure the community has a chance to have their say in what makes it in. I’m sure they’ll address some gameplay issues in the update.
Too bad Minnesota wasn’t an option. I’d to see how they handle that one when it comes time to add it in. (The benches are below the court.)
anyone has the marchmadness roster……..
if you do add me my gt is dabrotherspotts
