NCAA Football 09 news coming this week
March 31, 2008 by pastapadre

I have been informed that there will be a substantial amount of NCAA Football 09 info coming this week. Up to now we’ve heard a little about the breakaway animations and goal of wide open gameplay along with getting to see a couple screenshots and some short clips of the game from early in development.
It sounds as though this is the week that things will really start to heat up for NCAA Football. EA is likely looking to put the spotlight on the new features and improvements heading up to the NFL Draft with the PS3 cover announcement taking place the Thursday before.

shweeeeeet
and the hype begins…Ohh boy
I wanna see what they have to offer now so I can be hype for the release which won’t take place for a while.
Interesting…
cool
i can’t wait i hope ea can live up to the hype.
I want to see how they will change up Michigan’s O to the spread… Threet and Feagin at QB (One Pro and a Scrambler), that will be the oddest thing to see… Michigan w/ a Spread O.
I hope they improve the little things like more jerseys and replica stadiums. But i cant wait to see the news this week. Pasta you will have it posted right?
Smarter playbook selection down the road. I don’t want to see teams continuing to send their QBs on running plays when the new guy lining up behind C has a rating of 49 for speed.
http://www.ncaastrategies.com/ has a new video with more information on ncaa football 09.
The gameplay looks a whole lot better in this video. The pace of the game seems faster and the player models look ok. I saw the sec logo in the middle of the field in what appeared to be the sec championship game. happy to see that back in the game as well as the sweatbands around the ankles.

Good find.
However, though the game is still a “work in progress”, for me this video is alarming. Some of the animations still look stiff (QB dropping back specifically) and the animations still look so lazily strung together.
EA was touting the “branching animations” last year for Madden but I feel that’s what destroys the gameplay. Since some of the animations branch together so poorly, we often get that ragdoll effect when tackling.
I don’t know if EA will ever get the collisions and tackling as smooth as it was in NFL2K5.
The players look very shiny, but that might change by the time it is released.
Glad to see the same old terrible one-handed catch animation is still in the game. I love that.
Really, I think it looks a lot like Madden 08 at this point, with some better player models.
Yay for dumbing down recruiting. Good idea to take the funnest part of the game and make it simple again.
