Madden 09 Player and Team Ratings
May 31, 2008 by pastapadre

Looking forward to Madden 09 ratings? Well here you can find overall player ratings via pictures of each team’s current depth chart. Nice work Pasta
The Seahawks O-Line is looking nasty.
Damn you know what there must not be anything going on with the franchise because no one’s even bothering to respond…
I love you god.
Thanks you so much
Good Lookin Pasta

I don’t know when Russell is going to post up his thoughts and pictures from running through franchise. Just understand that franchise isn’t an easy thing to take in within that environment. I mentioned the Super Bowl having the SB logos in the end zone and on the field, and camera flashes being more intense. We also know about the rivlary aspect factoring into games. I believe Russell mentioned that the simmed stats looked good at first glance. Another small thing is they added a “Resume Franchise” option to go along with “New Franchise” and “Load Franchise”. From what Phil Frazier told me that just loads up the last franchise you had played, I suppose skipping how you would have to go into the saves section and choosing it.
Plus EA is supposed to have a franchise blog coming out very soon. I don’t think there is anything you’re going to see that is revolutionary, just things that were done behind the scenes to make the mode better.
Am I retarded or on the main screen of the vkings ratings, does it say Chester Taylor is a 99 OVR?

Okay I understand. I’m just anxious because that’s the meat and potatoes for Madden. Its going to determine if I purchase it or not. So far the game looks amazing but if the franchise mode is dry and stale then to me there’s no real replay value…
yeah wtf it says 99 ovr lol
rush23hester wrote:
Yeah your retarded he’s an 88
Blazelore wrote:
Just wait I have a decent amount of content on franchise as Pasta eluded to. But before I can post stuff on Madden I must get my impressions up for NCAA first its coming.

Nothing out of the norm there

Thats 3rd down RB. A different scale is used to determine a 3rd down RB rating. His real rating is 88 if you look at the HB section.
RUSSELL05 wrote:
Okay cool well its good to hear it directly from you. Godspeed!
Yeah I just noticed that, because Adrian Peterson for the Bears ia a 94. That is pretty cool, I like that.
Blazelore wrote:
Lick a salty taint. I didn’t realize that 3rd down backs were graded on a diff. scale.
I really hope Jason Taylor remains a Dolphin, but that’s a very iffy proposition. Chad Henne will be climbing the depth chart soon enough.
I am mad that the Bears couldn’t snag up henne, he’ll definitely be good, but beck might be good too
In this year’s madden, can you convert a character from one position to another position completely? For example, if I had a RE, could i convert him into a DT or a LB permanently? It might not sound like much of a feature, but it would impress me.

Damn sorry, I forgot to check on that. I know you can do it in Head Coach though.
Great work Pasta, I expected the rating for the Niners, should be in the higher 70’s though, they have plenty of talent,P Willis should have been a 98 ovr but 96 will do. I’m nitpicking here but do you know Pasta if EA change the Niners shoe colors to black? Thx for all the info and vids!!!
Blazelore wrote:
I fully agree..although ill still buy the game.. its all bout franchise for me.. last yr there were too many screens that did nothing (finances) and too many screens to go thru with load time ( scouting) so hopefully they at the least fixed that
Niner Empire wrote:
They are trying to get the uniforms more accurate, and I believe black shoes for the 49ers and Ravens were on the list. I can’t say whether they will or not in the end though.
Pasta you wouldn’t happen to remember any of darren mcfaddens specific ratings would you? For instance speed? I’m hoping at the least 97 since he ran the same 40 yard dash time as Reggie Bush haha. Ive Peterson is gonna be 96SPD Mcfadden has to be at least 97.
pastapadre wrote:
Thx for the quick response, they better get it right, uniforms have been a big issue with the Madden community, I have a feeling they’ve heard us and will get it right
pasta thanks for keeping us updated. just wondering if you have the weapon(s) of each player?
Wow my Dolphins got a lot better. O-Line is the biggest thing for me. Last year it was so difficult playing with them online because I had no time to pass and no where the run. Running attack should be good. Long (86), Smiley (89), and Satele (86) with Ronnie (92) and Ricky (80) I’m gonna be running left A LOT. Thanks for the pics Pasta.
Oh also forgot to mention Mauia (89, FB). 09 should be a hell of a lot more fun for me Phins.
Hey pasta. What are some of the weapons. If you can remember, who on the bills have one,
*MY Phins. Really wish we could edit.

Hold on a few minutes, I think I actually have pictures of the rookies that might show a few more categories. Not sure what is in them until I look at them.
As a Jets fan, I HIGHLY disagree with Coles and Cotchery having the same rating. Coles is way better than Cotch right now.
Marvin Harrison got GGed. Lame.
Thanks alot pasta! You are the man. I would gravely appreciate any info you have.
Wow, the Jaguars O-line is just beastly. Only 1 starter below 90 ovr and he is an 88.
Daboss1026 wrote:
my first thoughts exactly whats up with that both an 89 people dont realize but if coles had a qb like manning, brady, palmer or romo he will be a top wr in the nfl and cotchery is very underrated his rating is ok for him
Darren McFadden speed: 97
Rodgers-Cromartie speed: 97
Felix Jones speed: 96
thanks padre, how about kevin smith’s stats? rookie RB for the lions?
philip rivers a 90 what is going on. Also does mcfadden’s say 95 or 85 thats really tough to see
Thanks pasta thats about what I expected 97 or 98. now if he is a stiff arm ball carrier thats even better! :0)
chris johnson’s speed?
Linda wrote:
He is overall 79, speed 92, agility and acceleration 92

I have one question. How in the world is Vince Young an 88?
Schaub-85
Tavaris Jackson-79
J. Campbell-84
rush23hester wrote:
Sorry, I didn’t get down to the 77 rated rookies. I’d think he got a 98.
Thanks, babe.
lol ok good becasue the only way mcfadden will be a 95 in madden 09 is if he has a great year and the roster updates make him a 95
Hey Pasta by any chance did you get to play with the chargers?
dont want to be a burden pasta but you mind giving me mcfadden and felix jones agility and acceleration. i’m just a huge hog fan.
what is rex grossman’s speed and orton’s beard rating?
kurdishpride wrote:
I didn’t, but I know they were a pretty popular team around the room.

Hey Pasta… good job man. Is there any way you can post the special teams like kick/punt returners, kickers, punters. If you could do that it would be AWESOME! Thanks.
TitansFan9988 wrote:
Sorry, I thought about that later on but didn’t get a chance to take pictures of the special teams.
Pasta, going through the rosters did you happen to know if the ability to fully edit ur players has made it back, ie like weight or height or hairstyles and what not? Small feature I know, but I’m a detail freak.
rush23hester, thought you’d like Matt Forte’s ratings
OVR 80, SPD 92, AGI 90, ACC 90
lol… I would be indebted to you for life if you could tell me what Chris Johnson’s kick/punt return stats are. Thanks in advance.
Great stuff. Looks like you beat IGN to the punch by about a month. Any chance I can get Jordy Nelson and Patrick Lee’s (Packers) overalls? They both missed the depth chart photo by one slot.
Thanks

thanks, that looks like a nice upgrade over bensons 52 ACC and 60 AGI lol
PLEASE PASTA TELL ME CHRIS JOHNSON GOT AT LEAST A 98 spd
Being a JETS fan is so depressing. Atleast our OLine is going to be good. If we can stay healthy.
Can we please get rid out Chad. Id rather have Vinny back.
can u tell me ray rice’s speed
thanks
@ DJ 77:
Chris Johnson’s speed is 97, but I bet it will be faster after the first update. He’s still the fastest Titan.
Pasta can you give me Dorsey Albers And Flowers Stats
and is Will Franklin Mik Mirrett Brian Johnston Brandon Carr and Kevin Robison in the game
and id you have any of the vetrens ratings
there are a couple i want D-Bowe Derrick Johnson and i think thats it thanks man
Hey pasta, I’m curious about Chris Johnson’s kick/punt return stats. Do you know them?
whats roddy whites main attributes and matt ryans main and chevis jackson
alex wrote:
yea please ray rice speed and agility ratings,
thanks pasta!!!!
Pasta you da man! By any chance do you know if we still have to go through all the drills(40 yard dash, bench press, etc..) to determine our created players attributes? That’s one thing I hate about next gen Madden. I hope we can just adjust our created players attributes manually like last gen.

Not sure on that one.

The Jets aren’t looking as bad as I thought they might have been ranked. I know I can deff work with them in my league. Might get teared apart in the secondary but I’ll be able to hold my own.
Right there with ya whoever said Coles and Cotchery should not be rated the same. Cotchery should be thankful he got an 89 but Coles should be in the 90’s.
How about rashad mendenhall spd, agi, acc, and limas sweed spd, agi, acc??
DK wrote:
Mendenhall: SPD 92, AGI 92, ACC 94

Pasta sorry for posting this but I dunno if u saw it or not. Can you tell me Chris Johnson’s PR/KR stats?
ray lewis needs to be higher
Josh wrote:
You could create-a-player and assign his attributes without going through drills in Madden’08 (or there was an option to run through the drills); so I’m sure it’ll be the same for Madden’09.
hey pasta any reason the hawks are only a 87?? they should be in the 90’s!!!
i mean whats the point of winning the west 4 times in a row if you cant even break 90!!!! seriously!!!
Sorry to re-post . . . any chance on Jordy Nelson (WR) and Patrick Lee’s (CB) overalls? Both are rookies. I saw you mention you had access to rookie numbers.
LARON LANDRY 93 YEAH BABY!!!
Think you can post Colt Brennan’s throw power and accuracy?
Thanks a ton.
