EA Sports has released a spreadsheet that contains the finalized team ratings in NCAA Football 09. You can download that from here in excel form. It contains the offense, defense, and overall rating for each team. For those who haven’t seen the top 25 rankings that can be found here.

What are your thoughts on teams that might be overrated or underrated? Florida State may be the team that jumps out the most as blatantly overrated.

how can kansas only be a 77. and kansas state be a 81. i dont understand that.
• Jcollector1
What about WVU ranked 8th (in the game) and only being an 84. We have one of the most potent offenses in the country and our O is only a 90 and the Suckeyes are at a 99..........

Your telling me Pat White and Devine with a Line of 5 Returning players are only a 90. EA is asleep at the wheel yet again. Their games are getting worse every year other than better

WTF?? i didnt notice that... wow?... Northwestern?!?!? Seriously EA?? cmon
• Jertwa
Oregon's ratings seemed alright, until compared to others. Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Arizona rated better? Arizona rated 3rd best team in the Pac-10? I don't think so.

This is a little off topic but pasta I know operation sports has the beta version but in screenshots that hw showed some teams like san jose state, bowling green, central mich dont have there real stadiums are they going to fix that for the retail version
• josh
Can somebody tell me what San Diego State is rated?

One aspect of the game that really needs improvement this year is field goal kicking. In 08 You could hit a 50 yarder (r greater) with no problem. The average NCAA D1 kicker has problems hitting from 40. Heck is they miss from 35 regularly. Also since Home Field advantage is back your kicker should also get rattled and his kicking meter should go faster.

Sometimes I wonder how much thought they put into the smaller conferences, like our beloved MAC.

Central Michigan 72 81 66
Northern Illinois 77 79 78
Western Michigan 79 77 85

Let's see, last year

CMU went 8-6 won the MAC title for the second year in a row
Returning starters
Offense: 8, defense: 8, kicker/punter: 1

Western Michigan went 5-7
Returning starters
Offense: 8, defense: 11, kicker/punter: 0

Northern Illinois went 2-10
Returning starters
Offense: 9, defense: 9, kicker/punter: 1

It's not like you have a lot to go on outside of returning starters. Was there sympathy for N Ill for the school shootings? Is it because the ND QB was considering transferring there? (he ended up at Cincinnati)?

They really need to hire someone who does not have their head up their arse to do the ratings.

Yes some of these ratings are very weird, but remember it is college football and anything can happen. Also, the team ratings are just about how good the players are, but how well they fit their scheme. I rather have ateam that can do their jobs at their position than a roster full of all stars. Florida State? 94? thats a little bit ridiculous. Seeing how every year the team fails to connect with their potential. Being a Michigan fan I enjoy the 84 overall rating and not a top 25 team. This means dynasty will be so much better now that I will have to work. I do agree though, no team should carry all 99's. That is insane and means that neither team should loose.

the Buckeyes at 99? they should be AT LEAST a 105!
• Darren
I dont have excel, anyone wanna tell me how the Gophers are rated.
• jayrock52 (JB)
Ok Flordia State is my favorite team they may be a little overated but if anyone doesn't think this team doesn't have talent is foolish. They have playmakers all over the field but can they use them. Will Jimbo Fisher finally get the offensive rolling this year? I say yes!
• Patrick
http://www.operationsports.com/mediaview.php?id... has had these up for some time now.
• JHeb
I'm an Oklahoma fan but even I know Oklahoma State's offense is better than an 83...Defense should probably be a 70 b/c they're bad but c'mon.
• Eaven
ign has some new videos of a full game of osu vs lsu... but its for ign insiders only... that pisses me off cause i really want to see it
• Knight
i cant see the ratings because i dont have excel and the excel reader doesnt work for me. can somebody post Rutgers ratings please?
• TheUofOREGONDUCKS
They better put eyeblack in the game... oregon an 81 sounds right i think
• Boilers
I love how ND fans claim they are "underrated" in this game coming off a 3-9 season. Fact #1 When you lose to Navy at home, you arent that good. Fact #2 When you don't score an offensive Touchdown until October, you arent that good. Fact #3 When your coach can take down a buffet by himself, you arent that good(unless its Mangino)
• Badger Boy21
No offense to ND fans..but really..what have they done in like 15 years to think they are UNDER rated...classic underachievers lately...tons of talent..or maybe that is overvalued..

Anyone else think Mitch Mustain is an idiot???? Seriously why would you trasfer to USC...?? Who gives him this advice..have fun riding pine your whole career instead of going somewhere you could have made a diff..i feel not sorry one bit for these kids who do that stuff...but im sure the weather and chicks are nice out there..
• Badger Boy21
UW a 89...thats about right..not sure about the 99's....but that will make it sweeter for me when i beat (hopefully) on the game...
• Dre
Yea, man I plan on scrubbing people up online with my Dawgs
• michael
You can download excel viewer from microsoft to view it....Im die-hard UGA fan and how are they 99 in special teams when their kicker is an incoming freshman and the punter has no in-game experience, but 99 on offense is right 99 on defense is a like 5 points too high though haha
They didnt show a special teams rating doh
• J. Troy
Bump the haters.... GO UGA DAWGS!!!!
• Tim S.
Pasta,

Do you know if Jake Locker is correctly listed as a Soph. this year, after being listed as a Soph. last year
• Nick
Well I must say as a Florida fan that they shouldn't have a 94 overall rating, I think it should be a 90 at best. Sure Tim Tebow won the Heisman and had 52 total touchdowns and Harvin is fast and elusive as hell, same with Rainey, but that shouldn't suffice to a 96 rating in O. Also even though our defense was young last year, they still played horribly, should be like a 85-90 at best, not a 94. Anyone disagree?

Also it's nice to see that Western Kentucky isn't the absolute worst team in the game (60 overall, 68 Offense, 60 Defense) it's Army (60 overall, 66 Offense, 60 Defense) lol
• Ronnie Singh
Notre Dame is way low, they're going to surprise a lot of people this year.
• Jonathon
oh yeah, Missouri has the 8th ranked Def. Coord. as well...
• Jonathon
i truly fail to see how the Georgia Bulldogs merit a perfect off, def, and overall rating...i would be content with Missouri's ratings, if EA wasn't so readily giving away 99 OVRs to so many teams...94 OVR, seriously? for a team who missed the national championship by one game and returns most of their starters this year, and also comes into the season with the 3rd ranked QB, 3rd ranked receiver, 2nd ranked TE, 8th ranked LB, top ranked CB, top ranked KR, and the top ranked Off. Coord.(according to Rivals.com)...
• BIGTURBOWEENIE
how does georgia have 99 defense when they have no linebackers/defensive backs in any top 20 rankings? and since when is matt stafford an elite qb? did he not throw 19 tds only and 13 interceptions last year? i am just shocked that they can get all 99s across the board when they wont lose less than 2 games this year.
• AJ
I like the Noles but I will admit that they are rated way to high. The USF Bulls should be higher also.
• John
Notre Dame is pretty low, but what ever. There is no way a team can be ranked 99 on all fronts, it should be impossible. That is just a gift for cheesers everywhere. Looks like I'm gonna be playing a lot of Notre Dame vs. Georgia/Ohio State games now...GO IRISH!
• Dennis
Any team that has a 99 in both offense and defense is overrated.
• I Peench
Think Wake Forest got dogged a little bit (77 overall) and I think Penn State is a little overrated (91 ovr).
• BustyBuffet
Pretty unbelievable that Florida State is rated that high. Everything else looks decent. At least looks like I'm gonna have an uphill battle with UCLA.
• Patrick
Well their back-up QB is a freshman and was an option/scrambler QB in high-school and came in this past spring so he should be on the game. You are right i'm sure people that aren't UGA fans will use them online all the time and the UGA fans will be criticized for using the best team.
• Antoine
Wow these ratings are really off. Ole Miss is an 84! That's the same as Alabama and Auburn. And Miss State is ten points lower than Ole Miss at 74. Didn't Ole Miss lose every single conference game last year? I'm confused.
• RUSSELL05
Damn It looks like Georgia will be abused online at least they don't have a scrambling QB.
