Patch In The Works For UFC 2009

THQ is currently working on a patch for UFC 2009 Undisputed. Given the time it takes to create the patch and get through the certification process we are looking at probably over two weeks and most likely a month or so away. The patch will address the online problem with no result being recorded when people quit and also will work to eliminate some of the lag that has been experienced.

No word yet on what else, if anything, would be included in the patch. Hopefully some of the minor grievances with career mode will be fixed up as well. Given the apparent success and popularity of the title it was inevitable that it would be patched, though how significant and effective it will be remains in question.

Since there's already audio of Bruce Buffer introducing everyone in the game, shouldn't we, at the very least, be able to choose from the first and last names already in the game? If we want to make a Mike Silva, shouldn't that be easy to put through?

Either way, love to see them addressing this stuff right away. Went three rounds with Thiago Alves with some GSP-worshiper. We went back and forth, I had his face pretty well beaten, but then submitted him via choke on the bottom.

But then, you guess, it, I realized he had quit without the result recording. Unreal.

Would make sense to me. Lack of nicknames/good nicknames is annoying. Should be able to use the audio already in the game…

Pasta any news yet on the MLB 09 The Show patch? It's getting frustrating. Any news would be awesome even if you responded saying that you haven't heard anything yet, at least I would know something about the patch.

They did get the patch out to fix the replays. It appears that's all they're doing. They've moved on. Just going to ignore how it broke franchises/RTTS that had been going up to that point and hope people forget about it by next year I suppose.

Ok. I didn't even know the replay patch was out cause I have my 360 plugged into live instead of my PS3 right now. Thanks for the update, it's too bad that is how they are going to handle the situation, but at least they fixed the replays. Thanks for the update Pasta, I can't find reliable information anywhere but this site, awesome job.

What are the career mode grieveance you site? The main one for me is the auto-save feature. I usually turn on auto-save, but in this game I want to turn it off and I can't find out where. I could just be an idiot though.

I wish UFC had replays, ala Fight Night.

Just off the top of my head not aging, the CPU seemingly impossible to submit, and taking about 10 menu steps just to place a logo on your shorts.

the logo thing is right, thats way too long…. but u can definetly submit the CPU.. i play my career at "advanced", my submission rate is just 61… but when i played forrest griffin (as well as machida),,, i submitted him with my first try… u just got to turn that rs as crazy as possible,

One problem I have with career mode is that you do not age. Also, I have heard that career mode lasts just 7 years and you are "forced" to retire after that amount of time…whereas in Fight Night games, you can keep your career going, no matter how old, fat and bad your character gets.

Good point on the aging, that made me laugh the first time I saw it. As far as the career length, I can't say too much about that, as by the end you fight about 35 fights. I was sick of my guy by the end and ready to start another career.

Yeah…I guess the 7-year limit is kind of a personal preference thing. While I'd prefer to decide when my career is over, I can see where you'd wanna start a new career after 35 fights or so.

flick the right stick up or down to catch the kick for a takedown.

lol theres loads of counter moves if u actually learn how to play.

      Do the tutorial!~!~!

Besides, if you takedown as they kick it DOES work – takedowns right as the enemy strikes are GUARANTEED.

AND if you back off, you wont get hit by kicks either.

They need to put a patch out soon or people will be trading their UFC games in for one of the up coming wrassling games. I like the game a lot but I don't love it yet. I tell you it pisses me off the fact some fighters can get others off the top position quicker than others. I twist my joystick round and round and it don't work especially Matt Sera. I haven't beat him yet since I bumped my difficulty up. I would love for someone to tell me how to do any submission without breaking your fingers or controller. Maybe these problems vould be adressed in a a patch for the PS3 or Xbox360……………

hey man there is a strategy to doing submissions and once you employ them it's not very hard. First off if the guy ur using has a higher submission offense then use the analog stick for the sub. If ur guy has more strength then tap the buttons, same goes for escaping subs.

As far as when to go for submissions have the stamina bars on when u fight. Go for a submission when his stamina is low (no color in the bar, the yellow bar doesn't matter for subs) Another thing to do to make subs easier is also go for one when opponent is rocked (gray screen) but the main thing is to do it when stamina is low.

I really hate how easy it is to get into the full mount in this game. It's almost automatic. It takes real UFC fighters almost entire rounds sometimes to maneuver into a full mount.

Career mode sucks in UFC Undisputed … it's too short, nobody ages, no new fighters appear to replace older fighters. The only fighter that ever retires is the player controlled one … wow what realism. and with no CPU vs CPU capability the replay value on this game is about 15 minutes.

first of all for the guy that says you cant reverse a high kick, you most certainly can, if alot of people would crack the instruction manual or do the tutorial there would be alot less complaints about this game, and people are only getting you into the full mount because you are inexpierenced, just like in real life if you don't know how to defend that then they will mount you, and pound your face in. It takes real ufc fighters a long time to achieve the mount sometimes because they're all fighting at the top of their level and are extremely expierenced. The only thing I have to say is just because you're not very skilled at this game doesn't mean they need to fix anything, you just need to get better. Only thing need to be fixed is this quitting online bull $hit, I refuse to play online until thats fixed, psn ChapmanHands

I personally love the game.. I play on xbox360. The career mode is fun, but i agree they need to switch up the competition. I fought Shogun 8 times in my first go round… then the same with Lesnar in the hw division. Plus auto-save SUCKS. If you can't remember to save your game on your own then you're an idiot… WHY THQ, WHY???
