Madden NFL Arcade Now Available

The downloadable only game Madden Arcade is now available for both the 360 and PS3. It can be found on XBLA for 1200 MS points and the equivalent $15 on PSN. Links to information on the game are below and as with all downloadable games there is a trial version available to get a feel for it before deciding on whether to purchase.

So far reaction is mixed based on posts from various websites and Twitter which is not surprising as arcade games such as this are generally polarizing. Playstation University has an encouraging early review up already. Leave your thoughts on Madden Arcade in the comments and I’ll have videos and impressions up soon.

Just go to Play Now on online play and you'll download a roster update.

Needless to say, I was surprised to see that this game actually had roster updates.

Play the trial and decide for yourself, should be able to get a good feel from that. Arcade games are tough to evaluate based on whether others would enjoy them. Certainly this isn't a single player focused game but if you're going to play against friends or play online than it may provide that value you're looking for.

I can see why some wouldnt like the game. I dont have a problem with you feeling that way. But when you talk about it being easy of course it is, its meant to be that way. But if youre basing it on the CPU that would come across boring I know but online it is competitive and entertaining.

I wish they'd put time into the actual game they released in august, so that i could finally play it! I guess the 2nd patch will be out around February!! Madden USE to be THE football game to play. Not anymore. EA spends so much time catering to pansy football gamers, and not the hardcore players who have been playing madden since 1989 on the commodre 64. I really could care less about flyovers, and fans grilling SQUARE hotdogs before the game, or towels tucked into the pants!!!! I want realistic gameplay. PLEASE.

since you all are so busy…lets add some more features such as…
(for madden)
field goals look harder and harder each week except for "janikowski and kaeding"!!only
can you block them as easy as the kick returns or just add a blocking IQ, cuz they kick between my hands all of the time…and any kick above the 35 yard line should be eligible to be blocked by a lineman!
make sure to make it balanced most of all
if i throw to my player too hard /DROP no matter what receiver, but the defense grabs anything with anybody and the part that kills me—1 handed pix hasn't been done for real since Cromartie got Manning years ago on D.

But I completely agree with the point…its total BS that a WR get's hit and drops the ball but as a WR you can't play Defense on a picked off pass and try to knock it loose…done all the time in the NFL….and I've hit the defender so they do a flip and they still hold onto it no matter what…I have WR who can't even do that…wtf EA!!

Online play is fun. Just got done playing a game with my cousin and it's a nice little game.

For $15 though, it may not be worth the price of admission for everyone. I'd wait on a price drop on PSN/XBLA before buying if you're unable to try out the game first.

Alright the game is really fun online. I wouldn't recommended to someone just for a single player experience though. Love how the strategy is implemented in terms of power-ups and I even find myself playing field position because it is not an offensive dominated game. Full impressions and videos should be up late tonight.
