A brand new trailer has arrived for the upcoming Backbreaker football game. While little has been seen from the game since E3 there have been a few details discovered such as a potential April 27th release date and $50 price tag. Still the public has yet to see the game in action and this trailer is for the most part more of the same showing on-field high impact action but nothing from the gameplay perspective. Some concrete gameplay footage and extensive details on the game will be needed before people start to buy into it so hopefully this is just the start of content to come. Continue on to watch the trailer and leave your thoughts in the comments!

At this point I'm so fed up with how shitty Madden is I'm willing to try anything else regardless of whether it has the NFL license or not.

Really excited for this game to come out and the return of enjoyable football to the video game market.

    the juke moves look dumb

I know the tackling engine is what this game is about but the motions and running and throwing all looked very UNnatural. IMO.

look i am not gong to bash you but i am just really exited to finally get a game with it being based on a humans reaction and i think that is amazing!

understand you and everyone elses excitment for something fresh and new. Just saying there isnt much to keep you interested. even if this game is awesome you still want real names and stats.

players look too bulky. thatll kill the game for me if its not editable or fixed

Eh... I say give it a chance. People hate on stuff like this, but it probably has something in it Madden SHOULD have! Not a Madden hater, in fact I like Madden 10, but everyone knows even it could be improved. I ain't buyin this for 50 bucks, but I'd give it a try in the future

Do you see the way people cry on pastas madden rating change suggestion threads. I really dont think some roster thrown together is gonna hold up. This game is going to be a repeat of All Pro Football 2K8. I hope you are all ready for disappointment. and to those already saying this is better then Madden how can you prove that or even make that asumption without playing the game. makes no sense.

Dude! Think about it, someone will make a roster where 32 of those teams have the same names and close enough logos to the NFL teams and post it online somewhere. Do they have locker like things so people can DL user created rosters? Cause if they do, someone should totes do that!!!
  • tthink
    so?
    madden is 60...
  • I think I found my own answer... and it's no. bummer.
  • Will you have to create the logos and such in the games logo creator? Or will there be support for importing your own custom creations out of something like an Adobe product?
  • MLK
Like the physics-based animations. Looks very promising. It won't get the casual fans, but sim players be very happy. Hope they have different camera angle options than the on field one.
  • eric
    game is 50 bucks people.
  • GeorgeCostanza
as soon as ppl stop paying 60 for the same old recycled BS.. so yea, never. no sense in putting in extra work when the masses will buy anything with the NFL license.
  • Mark
already better than Madden. Maybe Backbreaker will get the exclusive license some day.
  • Looks intriguing; still need to see how it actually plays. I'm most interested in the Euphoria and NaturalMotion technologies. If they work in Backbreaker, how long before Madden utilizes them?

    booo

I cant see them selling this for $59. Rental at best for me.
  • duh

  • tony189

  • HuaHuaHua
    stfu youve never played it
  • NELL86
I'm def getting this game.. good bye Madden
  • chuck
the announcer tried to sound like the EA sports guy.
  • Eric
Same thing it's always been. Nice tech demo, no gameplay, no controls.
  • .....
awesome......definitely looking forward to its release
  • hawkeye4077
What's with the fade away passes? It's hard to judge a game on the trailer so, this really is nothing to get excited about. The one thing I will say though is at least it's something other than Madden and how long has it been since we said that?
  • John
looks like shit. this will be a waste of money
  • ANT_P1989
Looks really good....Just as long as the game has the core football gameplay down then it should be a solid game....56 teams, the ability to create and edit your WHOLE roster, create your own logos, endzone art etc. etc. a Franchise mode....plus the whole game is based on physics and players moving and reacting very close to the way humans would....If you have a big imagination and are a football fan and not just a Madden fan then you should enjoy this game....the animations look great as well
  • myles
doesn't do much for selling the game as that is just a crappily made trailer. The movement looks fantastic though, we'll see how responsive the controls are.

on a side note, those jukes look pretty tacky, but i know for a fact that you are able to make cuts and plants just using the movement stick with varying angles rather than only being able to use the juke button.

Also, every sports video gamer should be excited about this game, madden needs competition.
  • maddenforlife
Pasta, did you know they had a Backbreaker app in the app store? I downloaded it awhile back and its quite enjoyable.
  • angel
meh. theres no reason yet to think this will be a good "football" game. its flashy and makes for a good trailer but have to wait and see.
