There’s a definte screw job by the show against the marlins first they make the marlins low rated now Hanley gets the shaft! wtf…. everything reyes can do hanley can do better.

    • MetsFanF2010up

Na, man. The only thing Hanley has over Reyes is Power. And The Only thing Reyes has over Hanley is speed. Other than that their about the same. They both hit for average, can get on base, drive in runs, and play solid defense. (Although Reyes has more of a gold glove).

      • sandul

actually hanley hits for .40 points higher in average, and hits 30 more RBI’s.

this is based on hanleys’ BEST season (last year) and Reyes BEST season (3 years ago).

Hanley is the better player, he got shafted.

  • Brian

zobrist was better last year. better numbers, worth more wins and that was with about 100 less abs.

  • t. daley

Just b/c a player is injured doesnt mean that you lose your abilities. Jose Reyes is by far the best shortstop in the game along with Jimmy Rollins.

  • sandul

yeah, that was a mind fuck. :P

  • sandul

    everybody is wondering that.

  • sandul

yeah, but i'm hoping zobrist keeps it up… he's on my fantasy team. but so is roberts, so i'm covered. :)

Jose Reyes being #1 is an absolute joke. Hanley Ramirez, Derek Jeter, and Troy Tulowitzki are deserving of the top 3 spots in that order. Jose Reyes lack of leadership and his immaturity alone prove that he is not the best shortstop in baseball. Being one of the most consistent players in history and not to mention one of the greatest leaders and clutch players in Jeter, a freak hitter in Hanley, and great with the glove and bat in Tulo earn these 3 the top spots. Reyes can be 4th at best.

Why isn’t Jose Lopez on this list? In 2009 in comparison to ALL 2B he was: 6th in AB, 8th in hits, 4th in doubles, 7th in HR, and 3rd in RBI. The only blemish was is .276 average… but with all of these other stats it proves that he was clearly at the top of his game and deserves to be in the top ten.

Hell if that’s the case, why the hell isn’t Robinson cano on this list? he’s got a .320 average, 25 homers like Lopez, a bit fewer RBI’s, 4th in runs with 104…

But this is obviously not ALL offense, they are clearly taking into consideration DEFENSE, and SPEED. which jose and cano are good, but not elite.

why the hell is adam kennedy on this? cano or lopez should be number 10…

Good point on Lopez, think he gets lost in the shuffle a bit being in the NW. I absolutely would put him over Kennedy (just seems like a typo that dude is even on there), but I would have to still put Cano before him.

i dont now how yunel escobar is worse than orlando cabrera or asdrubal cabrera. Reyes is not better than Hanley Ramirez even though Hanley can’t play D.

When you rely on speed and the injury is to your legs, yes, it could effect your playing ability.

    Thirded.

  • jeter

jeter should be first. hanley wont touch jeter and neither would rollins….. for anybody to have 5 rings and they wont be first

Maybe if these rankings were for MLB The Show ’98

Hanley is by far the best shortstop in baseball. He will get better with the glove and when he does it will be scary. Also, there is not way that the odog and adam kennedy are better than Cano. I do not have a problem with the bar as a rating system. In fact I like it. The only thing that I do not like is the how the players get so tired so quickly. Catchers last a few days than they need just as many if not more days off than they played. That frustrates me

  • yankswin27

fourthed… where in the flying **** is Cano?!? The fact that Adam Kennedy is ranked higher is beyond me. He's gotta be Top 3-5 among second baseman in the majors. Unbelievable.

  • Jramey

5th. wtf. the guy hit .320 with 25 hrs

  • frdmac1

where is Cano? He not consider in the top 9 at second base!
