MLB 2K10 Patch Now Available for 360

The patch for MLB 2K10 has gone live on the Xbox 360 and the prompt to download will be presented when starting up the game. The most high profile changes that arrive with this patch include the addition of check swings, adjustments to manager AI on pulling pitchers, and fixing of the problem that has been preventing online ranked games from being played. Unfortunately it appears the PS3 version is being neglected as 2K Sports is unwilling to commit to a patch and may be planning to roll the changes seen in this first patch in with a second patch down the line.

For the detailed list of what the patch is delivering click here. After playing the game with the patch applied make sure to leave your thoughts on it in the comments!

Good news for 360 owners. Terrible news if you're a PS3 owner that has this title. Neglecting users on one system 2K, for what? Of course the majority of your fan base will be on 360, but that's no excuse. What about the people who support you by going out and getting MLB 2K10 as an alternative to The Show? They paid $60 regardless of what system they bought it on, so do they not deserve the same support?

You want people to purchase your game on both systems, then you should actively support it on both systems. I don't think it's asking too much.

  • whiney

Did you buy it on the PS3? Or are you one of those people who likes to complain about stuff that doesn't affect them?

  • Amen Ra

Damn they are kicking Sony's ass this year. They probably smell blood in the water.

MLB 2K10 is an amazing game, never had the pleasure of playing the show, but from where 2k has come from, this game is amazing. I'll play with the patch later on today and see if I notice something. I usually don't care about bugs or glitches especially if a game is a great game out of the box.

this is funny. Im pretty sure the reason is that MLB the Show has blown 2k out of the water on the ps3 in a huge way. And with good reason too because the Show is the best and cleanest most realistic sports game I have ever played so far. I mean, I cant see any way that 2k could even compete if the show had been on both systems. The online for the show isnt so hot, but other than that 2k would have to put out the greatest sports game ever created to compete. And when things like check swings have to get patched into the game I just dont see how that could happen. Dont hurry on the ps3 patch, no one that has one really needs it.

The PS3 users being neglected is a sad thing to see, but this game is in a fight for survival after the disasters of years past. I can see where they have to put every effort where it counts, and that's definitely with the 360 owners.

There's no question that 2K is gaining some ground right now, albiet they didn't exactly have any more to lose. Either way, with all I've heard about 2K10 right now, I think I'm going to go out and buy it for the 360. I know it's like buying a Toyota when they're selling Cadillacs across the street for the same price. But as long as all the pedals work properly, it should still be pretty fun.

I keep hearing all the praise for The Show. I was actually more impressed with the game last year than this year. Then again, all I care about is franchise mode.

not too many comments… wow, looks like the fanny bois are a lil hurt about this game being pretty decent this year… a good game is a good game, no matter who the company is. Look up last years rambles about that crappy 2k9 mlb… pages upon pages of blabbing, and most of it came from ps3 owners who dont own the game smh

i cant stand fanny pack bois

Those aren't real numbers. But yes, sales for The Show will dwarf 2K10. That is more representative of the quality of last year's games than the events of this year.

I love MLB this year. I can look past the fielding issues, because I missed baseball last year. The pitchting battle is fantastic, even on a default setting.

This patch will hopefully quiet my only gripe and that is AI Pitcher Managment.

That and perhaps with a check swing I wont strike out as much, as I treat every pitch like a Verlander 2-Seam

Ok lets get a few things straight here. 1st off no one who plays the show gives a rat's ass about MLB2k. 2nd, The fact that you have a playable game this year is in no way indicative of a game that can compete with the show. Lastly Its good to see you lemmings who continue to buy faulty 2k products are being convinced that they have a good game this year.

When will you sheep learn that 2k is a garbage company. Has it ever dawned on you pea brains that every single sports title that 2k releases is somewhat broken out of the box and in desparate need of several patches. This should tell you that 2k cant make a game in the alotted time frame and more importantly the games they are making aren't even good. The look of MLB2k10 is shameful. Looks like PS2 graphics.

Once again, its good to see that you 360 drones have a game to play but don't be a tool and try to compare your PS1 quality game with that of the show. You just look like a fool.

One of the things I find amusing is the idea that “2K” is some monolithic studio – the people behind MLB2K10 are the guys at VC – who have a long history of presenting quality sports games. Given enough time to produce something they've stepped up. This year's game is very good, and given another year and some momentum I expect next year's to hit it out of the park. I'm delighted the patch has come as soon as it has and the devs are already discussing plans – based on user feedback – on a second patch. I do agree they shuld support both systems in parallel tho'

  • truth

trust me, same dude same.. and im sorry but I like 2ks season mode bettter, the stat overlays and commentary is just that much better

  • L. daley

I love how you fail to realize that the show was/is broken out of the box this year aswell.. anyways, you're so caught up in trying to be some tough/smartass guy over the internet im not even sure you know what you're saying

  • skihawks

The Show is a quality product. MLB 2K is still slipping down a slippery slope (say that five time fast). I am hoping that 2K is able to right the ship. The more quality we see from both games, the better the competition will be = more options for gamers (well, at least on one console for now).

I agree that 2K plays much better than last year's iteration but is still miles (in my opinion) from MLB 2K7, which was an awesome game, and light years behind The Show. 2K can't even get the uniforms correct, which is surprising knowing VC's track record with authentic representation.

Either way, glad to see that the game is fun. Now let's bring on MVP and let the real baseball battle begin….

  • HustlinOwl

there will be a ps3 patch at some point right?

  • t. daley

Linda im sorry, that wasnt me on that post! Im not a cock sucker!

  • Jay

Hey guys hows the show doin?? Oh yea I forgot,,,,, it's broken

  • Jay = Gay

What are you, 10 ? Grow up. Go make some money. Care about something that matters.

  • Eric

I don't care what people say or write or think for that matter the Show is a better game all around and is easier to play. I guess I'm not that hard to please when it comes to video games. I like games that look good and as far as I can tell the Show is the best. I just wish they would put the true minor leauge players in the game the start with instead of making us wait until the player has a bat in a MLB game. We all know that Jason Heyward of the Braves and Stephen S of Washington will make the teams opening day roster. So why not include them in the roster update now instead of later. I mean the NFL includes rookies in Madden that never played a snap in the NFL look at Crabtree he was on the roster and didn't even play until later in the season. So don't make us wait for tomorrow's star tomorrow. Thanks

  • markfoley

Im a PS3 owner but why would I waste a dime on a 2K baseball game? But I am sure someone who does own A PS3 did buy this game and for 2K to snub them of a patch in LOW.

Their stimey, their looney, their baseball game is cartoony.

  • ROO

I buy games for graphics aLONE TOO daley!

  • http://twitter.com/shane_35007 Shane Loose

    Dumb question…..

How do you check swing with Total Control Batting?

I've tried searching 2k and Operation Sports forums with little success.

    Thanks

  • you know it

yea man seriously some of these people must be on drugs or not care about franchise mode at all (wtf franchise is the best!) or both.

MLB2k is on the rise and The Show is on the decline

I'm glad 2k is putting out a better game for 360 users, I had 2k9 last year and it was miserable. I played the demo for ps3, I wasn't crazy about the controls, which is my main caveat with 2k's baseball games. It's not fanboydom, I just think the Show, in my opinion, is more enjoyable to me. You don't have to agree though, I don't care either way.

  • sense?

no its not about last year, why would we want to compare number for last year when comparing this years titles…

  • Kevin

Is anybody else having trouble with this patch? I've downloaded it but I still don't have check swings. Could that be because I installed the game on my hard drive?
