MLB 2K11 Patch Arriving This Week

After a wait of over two and a half months the patch for MLB 2K11 is finally set to be delivered on Wednesday May 18th for the Xbox 360 and PC. Presumably the patch has been delayed on the PS3 side by the nearly month long outage to PSN and there is no clear idea as to when that may clear certification by Sony who are surely backlogged with requests.

MLB 2K11 has been plagued by numerous bugs, Association mode problems such as no fatigue and an overwhelming number of injuries, the main new feature Dynamic Ratings not even working, and severe AI issues. At this point the patch is likely far too late to stave off the continued loss of confidence in the series that has resulted in plummeting sales.

lol 2K. so happy the license they have is ending after next year

  • Scotty

Dynamic ratings work.  It just takes a month to gather stats.  MLB Today and the dynamic ratings are working just fine now.

  • Pete Rose

Yeah, 2K11 actually plays a decent game of baseball and Im very critical of all mediocrity. Dynamic ratings do work. The patch will work for ongoing franchises and Superstar modes, so thats a good thing. Other than a handful of bugs, 2K11 is perhaps the best 2K baseball game.

    • Pete Rose

To add on to this, fatigue does work and there is an injury slider, so you can adjust how many injuries there are.

      • CubsFan10

fatigue only works when you sim, otherwise it says 99 ENG

        • Pete Rose

It says that, but it does work. its a glitch in the display. Believe me, Ive tested it out. Just like how pitchers dont come over to cover first fast enough. I’ve found that they actually do, you just have to wait to throw it over there. Ive found a lot of misconceptions on what MLB 2K11 can and cant, has and hasn’t done. It has its flaws and bugs, but it does work. The sim stats are damn good, especially for a game of stats like baseball and progression works fantastic.

          • CubsFan10

ohh alright, then if thats true they’d have to fix the display glitch. and thank god someone else noticed the pitcher covering first late! and yeahh the sim stats are sooo good! i was actually quite surprised

as Ive always said Pasta will bash any non EA product far worse than deserved. I think 2k11 is fun and works fine as well,

    • Jwade3247

Pasta bashed MLB 2K11 because it isn’t any good. I gave up on that damned game a long time ago. Folks like you tickle me, because it’s all well and good when he’s ripping the EA Product, but the moment he goes in on something 2k made, something is wrong. I mean damn,2k football, solid. 2k basketball, outstanding. Hell, even the tennis game they came out with is awesome. Yet their baseball game continues to suck.

Pasta your act is old man. Madden has not put out a game worthy of this current generation praise yet and I have never heard you be overly critical of them. I will say it for the last time, I would much rather have MVP baseball considering it is my favorite of all time, but I would also much rather have NFL 2K considering 2K5 was my favorite of all time. Madden still has not realized that defense is part of the game yet.

hey im trying to decide if i should buy mlb 2k11.  my only question is…can me and a friend team up and play an opponent online?

Always so critical of anything without EA plastered all over. MLB 2k11 has its flaws yes, but the dynamic rating is fine, it just needed a few games to played in real life in order to start pumping out stats. The Show may blow MLB 2k11 out of the water as far as graphics are concerned… but when it comes to game play I believe 2k11 takes the bacon. Can’t wait for this patch, hopefully I’ll finally be able to get that damn He taketh Away achievement now.

you know I get tired of this. If it was an EA Sports game with these type of flaws, you and half the people who have posted in the comments section would be all over it. Have you even played The Show? Obviously not if you think the gameplay in 2k11 is better. There is no reason,no reason whatsoever that one game should continue to have the same flaws year after year.

  • Vicrivera42

shut up 2k sucks every year bottom line!

    • Pete Rose

Spoken like someone who never played. Fail less newb.

but i’ve played it every year since 06 and it’s not good.  MLB 2K7 was decent, but they didn’t continue down the correct path, so the bright future it had diminished.  it should be a real solid game by now, but..  it’s barely average.

        • Pete Rose

Actually they did, since 2K11 is better than 2K7.

          • Jwade3247

            Pete, that’s not saying alot.

  • Seriously, I haven’t had so much fun with a baseball game since the High Heat series.  This year’s game is so much better that the past iterations of the product.  I play the game on PC and have just been having a great time.  The announcers are simply amazing.  Every single player’s name is said (although they do mispronounce occasionally but so do the Reds’ commentators in real life).  It seems like they always know something about what player is batting and pitching and the level of immersion is just heads above any other sports series today.  Anyone that has given up on MLB 2k11 or never even taken a look, take another look.  Especially if you have a decent PC.  On that platform, the game is only 30 bucks or so down at Walmart or on Amazon and the patch will hopefully fix some of the issues.  That all being said, the MLB Today stuff is working great now.  Every player’s stats have been updated over the last week with game day statistics.  Maybe Pasta should have another look at this stuff after the patch comes out and especially the dynamic player stuff which absolutely is working now.   about what player is batting and pitching and the level of immersion is just heads above any other sports series today.
