Details on the third patch for NBA Live 18

Posted October 17th, 2017 at 7:45 am

After adding in the Nike Statement uniforms and addressing a number of issues identified through community feedback, the latest patch for NBA Live 18 released today and tweaks some areas of gameplay along with career and franchise modes. Maybe the most notable change is the tuning of playoff simulations, which was noted in my review for problematic results which were common such as the Knicks and Mavericks winning the NBA Finals.

♦Tuned Slider impact for shot contest
♦Tuned Slider impact for off-dribble shooting
♦Restricted some on-the-run Dribble Moves for lower skilled players

♦Added new pre-game lobby in the League
♦Goals are now available in Pause Menu in the League
♦Fixed exploit completing goals and gaining stats when simming League games
♦New First Take videos now seen in the League near All-Star game and Playoffs
♦Updated signings and draft pick trades to match the NBA
♦Tuned Playoff simulation
♦Adjusted wording of various goals

♦Updated Commentary
♦Fixed commentary for overtime games
♦Minor bug fixes

Pasta did you hear EA cut NBA live’s price to 30 dollars on PSN store xbox store.

    This deserves a post.

Thats right, NBA Live is such an awesome game, that money grabbing EASports is slashing the price or Are they slashing the price, because it’s a pathetic game that isn’t selling.

    • Just a guy

They’re slashing the price because nobody is buying it. If people were paying $60 for it, retailers wouldn’t cut it down to $30.

Not true they’ve also slashed the price of madden and NHL then former being one of them a best selling games around

Or they understand that 2k still holds the market for NBA games, and realize that lowering the price will inspire some impulse buys to get their game out there.

A quality product will sell itself. The word of mouth and game reviews is the best marketing tool. Lowering the price will not make a terrible product suddenly a great product.

        • This can often be true but not necessarily. There are definitely people out there squeezed by how many good games released in a five week period. Money spent has to be a consideration, and maybe a lower price brings in people who couldn’t have got it alongside other games at a certain point in time.

Ummmm.. I believe the game everyone points to as the GOAT football game of all-time NFL 2k5 released at $19.99 to try and cut into EA’s market share.

EA is trying the same tactic here. They see the vulnerability that 2k is getting with the VC backlash and are taking a shot to grab some market share.

It’s not a superior game to 2k at this point, but if they can prove year-over-year growth as people become more insulted by VC perversion, then Tiburon may give them the funding they need to field a solid competitor.

I bought NBA live 18 twice once on xbox one and once on PS4. all under40 dollars the game is great and I’m enjoying it that’s all that really maters

        • Skopin

Word of mouth and reviews only work when the game does not have a successful direct competitor. Even with the VC issues, 2k is still the #1 basketball game, and most consumers will go for what they know over what they don’t when they see two games for the same price.

NFL 2k5 sold at $19.99. Would you say that was done because it was a pathetic game?

Live 18 isn’t terrible. It’s not going to take the throne by any means, but it has made great strides, and is actually plays a pretty decent game of basketball.
