Madden Mock draft picks 24-26

April 20, 2008 by pastapadre

The Titans, Seahawks, and Jaguars are now up in the Madden Mock Draft. Tennessee has several areas where they could use immediate help while the other two teams are pretty well set at the majority of positions but could use either an additional playmaker or some depth.

#24 Tennessee Titans - Phillip Merling - DE - Clemson

Tennessee became real thin at DE during the off-season although they picked up the always overrated in Madden Jevon Kearse in free agency. Despite that they need another good player at the position. You could also look to wide receiver but Merling is the last of the first round talent at the position and wide receivers with potential could be found in later rounds.

#25 Seattle Seahawks - Limas Sweed - WR - Texas

For the Seahawks there are three offensive positions that could be considered. A threat in the passing game at tight end, a number one wide receiver, and a game controlling running back. With Jonathan Stewart, Rashard Mendenhall, and Dustin Keller all gone by this point the pick becomes Limas Sweed. The Seahawks can use a deep threat with height and jumping ability.

#26 Jacksonville Jaguars - Kentwan Balmer - DT/DE - North Carolina

The Jags could get help at DE or DT. Balmer can play both positions although in a 4-3 he is more of a fit at DT. May not present a huge impact in Madden but the Jaguars are set well at every other position already.

Taylor was a cokehead if anything, but anyway I think that the Titans are taking Limas. They do not have a big play WR and he could give them that, plus they give Vince a familiar target.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. There is no way they take a WR, really? They have Burleson and Engram as their top WR’s with an injured deion branch in the mix. That is the position of need. Keep in mind this for Madden as well. The ‘hawks passing game will be very weak without a WR. That is a great pick.

I dont know about the titans drafting Merling in round 1. They specifically said they need offensive touchdowns and offensive speed in this draft. The only defensive player i see them taking is Brandon Flowers and that’s because he a solid prospect with excellent support against the run.

i dont know what im talking about? rocky benard and marcus tubbs get injured every year! they had to use a rookie brandon mebane as there starting DT. rocky and marcus and old and need to be replaced. the seahawks at least have young talent in ben obomonu and jordan kent as recivers.

#24 – Disagree. I think the 1st round LBs are gone here, but I agree the Titans need a WR would receive a shot in the offense with one of the top WRs still left. Mario Manningham, Michigan, could give them that Madden boost.

#25 – Agree. Sweed, a good choice. I had James Hardy to go here.

#26 – Agree. Balmer will progrees well.

Yeah right Titans wont go DE in the 1st round, come on now pasta. If anything they would take balmer over merling. Titans will most likely take a WR.

I acutually have the Titans taking Kentwan Balmer at 24 to team him up wit Albert in the middle of their line.. The Seahawks I think are gonna take Dustin Keller from Purdue the Tight-End and finally I have the Jags taking Calais Campbell from “The U” the big Defensive End cuz we know Del Rio likes big Line-Man!!

  21. Seahawk18 on April 22nd, 2008 3:44 pm Quote

The Hawks’ should take a DT, they only have Rocky bernard and Brandon Mebane, they should trade up in the draft to draft Glen Dorsey

  22. mj23 on April 24th, 2008 3:32 pm Quote

*I say the Tennesse Titan take Limas Sweed because the connection of Vince Young and Sweed.Sweed,Roydell Williams,David Givens, and Brandon Jones will be a force to be recond with.
*I believe the Seattle Seahawks take Dustin Keller because Marcus Pollard is getting old and plus Matt Hasselback needs some help at the passing game.Keller will be a vertical threat and when they run the ball they bring in Pollard because he is the better blocker.
*I think the Jacksonville Jaguars take Kentwan Balmer because of the loss of Marcus Stroud.Him and Henderson will be a threat.no team would run the ball againts them.
