2009 Madden Mock Draft 22-24

The Vikings, Patriots, and Falcons and now up in the Madden Mock Draft. All three teams have clear positions that could use upgrades. These are teams that made the playoffs, or in the case of New England had a record that most years would have. So patching in an impact rookie could really enhance their team’s effectiveness.

With NFL Draft day quickly approaching look for the Madden Mock Draft to finish up by next Wednesday. I’ll have my true mock draft ready to post while I’m in New York on Thursday.

2009 Madden Mock Draft 16-18

The Madden Mock Draft continues with the Chargers, Jets, and Broncos. These are three teams that have a completely different focus in this area of round one. The Chargers are in a position where they can draft the best available player that fits, the Jets have obvious needs at two skill positions on offense, and the Broncos get their second pick of the round to fill a need.

Continuing on with the Madden Mock Draft are three teams that are on the cusp of playoff contention and are good teams in Madden with each having very different strengths. This draft pick could help to push them over the edge with all three of them probably benefiting most from a defensive addition.

It is at about this point in the Madden Mock Draft where it starts to become more difficult to choose between players. There is more subjectivity involved in evaluating potential ratings and what they would mean for the teams. A bigger consideration becomes comparing options as far as how much they can offer immediately and what positions are easier to draft valuable contributors in later rounds.

The last group of picks in the Madden Mock Draft included some controversy over the Seahawks selection of Mark Sanchez. Ironically since then there have been developments which make it appear that Seattle is actually interested in taking Sanchez. It does make sense for the team as well as how it would benefit them in Madden.

The first three selections in the 2009 Madden Mock Draft could well be the same ones chosen on NFL Draft day. However now is where the picks start to deviate from what the normal mocks out there are predicting. Remember this is not my mock of what I expect to go down on April 25th. Instead it is a look at the players teams might choose based on who would help them the most in Madden 10 and beyond.

2009 Madden Mock Draft 1-3

Something I enjoyed doing last year was the Madden Mock Draft. This is not a mock centered on who I believe the teams will end up selecting. I will be doing one of those closer to the draft. Instead it is about what player each team would draft in order to improve themselves the most in Madden 10. I base decisions primarily on projected ratings, team needs, importance of position, opportunity for impact, and potential ratings increases throughout the season.
Every few days I’ll be posting up another set of picks. Here are the first three selections in the Madden Mock Draft for the Lions, Rams, and Chiefs.
