Having started the promotional rounds for The Wolfman, director Joe Johnston has addressed the future of two high profile movies on his slate. While talking with Boxoffice.com he stated that Jurassic Park IV will happen and that it could be the start of a new trilogy. The movie has long been expected to materialize and even had rumors in the past about scripts and casting. However nothing had come together or been made official though most expected it eventually would happen.

Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen. It breaks away from the first three—it’s essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It’s going to be done in a completely different way. That’s pretty much all I can tell you.

Johnston also discusses some of the details for the highly anticipated Captain America that is nearing the start of production. There are still no casting details but those should be known soon. Thor just started shooting and the majority of the cast was discovered about a month ago. Captain America will be releasing two months after Thor in summer 2011.

It’s not going to be a Captain America that you expect. It’s something different. It is influenced by the comic book, but it goes off in a completely different direction. It’s the origin story of Captain America. It’s mostly period—there are modern, present-day bookends on it—but it’s basically the story of how Steve Rogers becomes Captain America.
