Daredevil Getting a Reboot

It’s all the rage lately with comic book movies to launch a reboot and attempt to establish (or re-establish) a franchise. The latest comes from Fox with Daredevil. The 2003 film starred Ben Affleck and led to an even worse spin-off from Jennifer Garner’s Elektra character. Daredevil actually did relatively well grossing $102 million on a budget of $78 million. However being panned by both critics and moviegoers Fox never felt comfortable greenlighting a sequel.
The script for the reboot will come from David Scarpa who has written The Last Castle and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Over the last couple years there has been a lot of talk about a Daredevil reboot with Jason Statham being linked to the project. Nothing regarding casting or a potential director is known at this time however.
