‘American Pie 4′ To Be Directed By ‘Harold & Kumar’ Creators

Back in February it was reported that ‘Harold and Kumar’ writers, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, would write the script for the new ‘American Pie’ film. The Hollywood Reporter now has an exclusive about the duo directing the film as well.

The duo is coming aboard to direct “American Pie 4,” Universal’s reboot of the “American Pie” franchise, setting the stage for newcomer Todd Strauss Schulson to direct “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas,” the third installment of the trippily successful “Harold & Kumar” series.

The article also mentions that Hurwitz and Schlossberg are seeking to reunite the original cast with their script. No deals have been made with any of the actors, but there seems to be interest from the actors as well. I think reuniting the original cast would be the best option. I don’t really care for sequels where the characters are supposed to be the same but there’s new actors. We see this all the time in the Chevy Chase ‘Vacation’ films. No plot details have been revealed yet.
