The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings.

  • Early indications are NBA Jam for the 360/PS3 will be a retail release and not downloadable as originally planned, with more content added in to justify the costs. Will have an article on this tomorrow.
  • An analyst floated an estimate of $60 million being lost due to the delay/cancellation of NBA Elite 11 (saying it would’ve sold 1.1 million copies) however that is way off base. Not only was Elite never going to sell near a million copies, but additionally publishers don’t get $60 for each one sold. It certainly will be a big hit on EA’s numbers for the quarter regardless.
  • A second copy of NBA Elite 11 is up on Ebay and is already at $265 will almost a full six days still remaining. The first copy went for just $255 so this one is looking to finish much higher.

News and content that may have been missed from the last week around the site.
