The ongoing league lockout may have no end in sight but 2K Sports is still finding a way to update elements within NBA 2K12. One of the features for 2K12, which sadly is largely negated due to the lockout, is the ability to make visual changes to things like courts, jerseys, accessories, and even the appearance of individual players. Today 2K released the first update to take advantage of this by introducing the new Nike Lebron 9 sneakers which should appear automatically when starting up the game. More shoes will be added as they are revealed over the course of the year.

Many consumers may come to question why time is being spent on shoes when the website with anticipated features still hasn’t even launched or as online play continues to be so troubled. It’s understandable to feel that way considering the circumstances – but visual updates (such as the introduction of new shoes) are unrelated to areas such as those and shouldn’t been viewed as the culprit behind the lack of progress being made there.
