NCAA Football 13 Lacks Infinity Engine

The “monumental change to gameplay” for Madden NFL 13 won’t be reflected at all in NCAA Football 13 despite the two products attempting to have more synergy than ever before. I’ve received confirmation that the “Infinity Engine” that was announced for Madden 13 earlier today will not be featured in NCAA 13.

This of course will be severely disappointing news to those hoping for the physics-driven engine to be in both titles but shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. It was a dead giveaway that the major announcement wouldn’t affect NCAA when EA started releasing gameplay videos in recent weeks. Those wouldn’t have been pushed out by marketing if the gameplay was going to be drastically and dramatically altered with a later announcement. Madden may now completely overshadow NCAA in terms of advancement but in the end that could make it the less refined of the two products as well.
