OverDog App Launches on iOS

The app that aims to provide gamers an opportunity to take on professional athletes has just launched for iOS devices. OverDog, which is co-founded by former Bears linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer and carries an advisory board that includes Raiders punter Chris Kluwe and Rays pitcher David Price, is operating now in “soft launch” and for the time being is completely free. Though the earlier Kickstarter campaign failed to meet its goal the service was never contingent on that funding beyond the extras it would have provided for.

Only 1000 spots are open during this period meaning those who sign-up will have a fairly strong chance of nabbing a challenge from an athlete. Matt Forte and David Price are among those who have already issued challenges since the app went live. An Android app is expected later this summer. Check out the OverDog website for more and grab the app from iTunes.
