Benedict Cumberbatch Announced as Doctor Strange

Rumored to be in the works even before the big Marvel press event at the end of October, the studio today officially announced Benedict Cumberbatch to play Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch is best known for his performances in the BBC’s Sherlock and Star Trek Into Darkness.
“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
Doctor Strange is slated to release November 4, 2016 and is directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister, Deliver Us From Evil). It follows just six months after the highly anticipated Captain America: Civil War.
