Given the regard to which Let The Right One In is held, the Swedish horror film from 2008, there was certain to be skepticism towards the American remake Let Me In. At the Comic-Con panel the creators tried to squash that concern and from all accounts they completely put them to rest. Let Me In is directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and stars Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) as a young vampire that befriends a boy who is constantly being picked on. The movie is slated to release on October 1st. ...

At the Comic-Con panel for True Blood a new trailer was released looking forward to the second half of the season. Needless to say there are major spoilers involved, and that even applies to anyone that is completely caught up on the series. However it is a a pretty cool look at what is to come with some wild suggestions being made in the footage. Often I find previews for the next episode to give a bit too much away, though sometimes it is misdirection, but I was surprised to see how much was...

Comic-Con brought the debut footage and trailer for Drive Angry 3D. The film stars Nicolas Cage as a man pushed to the edge by the killing of his daughter and kidnapping of her baby and the subsequent rampage he goes on, and also features Amber Heard and William Fichtner. While understandably audiences have gotten skeptical about 3D the movies that are filming in the format (and not utilizing post-conversion) are the ones to keep an eye on. Drive Angry was completely filmed in 3D and it shows....

At the Comic-Con panel for Burn Notice it was announced that the USA series will be getting a prequel in the form of a movie. The prequel will focus on Bruce Campbell's character Sam and his military past. I'm a big fan of Burn Notice and really enjoy Campbell's role in it, but it'll be interesting to see whether he can pull off a full movie for the character on its own. Seems like he plays well off the other characters in the show but certainly the potential is there for more....

The Comic-Con panel for Saw 3D brought the debut of the trailer for the seventh and as announced final one in the series. The Saw franchise has made over $730 million worldwide and sold over 30 million DVDs, all the while being made on relatively low budgets making each one profitable despite some drops in box office take for the last few. There is understandable skepticism though, with many believing if Saw 3D is a hit that the studio will find an excuse to keep it going. The movie is slated ...
