    FX has announced that the original series Lights Out will not be returning for a second season. The final two episodes of season one will air as scheduled however. The well received series simply didn't have the ratings to justify its renewal, with recent episodes pulling only a .3 in the critical 18-49 demo, so the news does not come as a surprise.     Despite a solid marketing push and great buzz the new FX series Lights Out debuted to disappointing ratings. The premiere brought in just 1.5 million viewers and a 0.6 18-49 rating. Combined with encore showings Lights Out totaled 2.4 million viewers for the evening. FX recently canceled the widely championed but low rated Terriers after its first season.     The new FX series Lights Out is set to premiere next week and the network has pushed out a series of short promos along with an extended faux-documentary featuring the characters. As with most original FX series quality is expected to be high and the pilot has been getting good buzz. Lights Out debuts on Tuesday January 11th at 10pm.
