Director J.J. Abrams crafted a marketing campaign for Super 8 that attempted to disguise much of the plot and create mystery around the monster reveal. Wanting to respect that and experience it the way it was intended I entered the film having actively tried to avoid as much information on the film as possible. Super 8 is a call-back to some great films of the past and evokes a certain level of emotion rarely touched on in today's cinema. (more…)...

  • Neville Page Working on JJ Abrams’ ‘Super 8′
Posted August 23rd, 2010 at 6:21 pm No Comments » is reporting that Neville Page is working on JJ Abrams‘ upcoming Super 8. Some might be asking who Neville Page is and what does he do? If you've seen JJ Abrams' Cloverfield, you'd see his work in action. He was the guy who created the creature that terrorizes the city. His credits also include Garfield, Fantastic Four, Superman Returns, The Chronicles of Narnia, Watchmen, Avatar, Piranha 3D, Green Lantern, and Tron: Legacy. Pretty impressive to say the least. You can view the vide...

The secretive trailer for Super 8 has spurned some huge intrigue over the last few days and it has now debuted in front of Iron Man 2. Yesterday I posted some details on the movie as well as a link over to read a detailed description of the events of the trailer. Generally when a trailer debuts on an event movie it doesn't officially go online until the following Monday. So, in lieu of the official release, we turn to bootleg recordings which are springing up everywhere. Obviously this isn'...

Earlier this week news hit that a secret JJ Abrams project would have a trailer debut on Iron Man 2. That trailer has been electronically locked up preventing any leaks of what it could be until now. Speculation was a Cloverfield prequel or sequel. Now Slashfilm has some additional details on Super 8 (which may or may not be the real title for the eventual movie). I can confirm that it is not a Cloverfield sequel or prequel. It is written and directed by JJ Abrams. Yes, produced by S...

When the trailer for Cloverfield arrived from out of nowhere while attached to Transformers it created a ton of buzz that ultimately carried all the way to a big opening for a movie which had no big name stars. That trailer didn't even include the eventual name for the movie, instead just throwing up the release date at the end. It was extremely effective as rarely can anything coming from Hollywood surprise audiences in the way that did these days. Cloverfield was created and produced by J...
