  • NBA 2K16 Gameplay Videos
    Posted September 14th, 2015 at 5:45 pm 8 Comments »
It's somewhat disconcerting when any game holds back from showing gameplay footage leading up to release, but in the case of NBA 2K16 there wasn't much concern over what that meant. The series' track record and where it was coming from with 2K15 left little reason to doubt that 2K16 would be in excellent shape. Still, it took until just 11 days remained for any footage to go out, with today a huge wave of videos being let loose from a variety of sources. It's noteworthy that these vide...

MyCareer Mode in NBA 2K16 is written and directed by Spike Lee, and the more adult-nature moved the game's rating to E10+ as it includes objectionable dialogue, references to suicide, and the death of characters. Today 2K Sports released a trailer for the popular story mode which now is being likened more to a movie than those from the past two editions of the series. • Lengthy NBA Live 16 gameplay videos from live stream
    Posted September 14th, 2015 at 8:15 am 15 Comments »
Following footage recorded off-screen at E3, NBA Live 16 went somewhat into hiding and since then has avoided the release of any gameplay footage, knowing that a great deal would ride on the demo anyway. However EA Sports gave out copies of the game at a party on Saturday night - many of which have since ended up on Ebay - and that means footage of the game would inevitably get out no matter whatever efforts EA would take to prevent that from happening. Already there has been a live strea...

Next week 2K Sports will announce two final classic teams to round out the 12 that make their debut in NBA 2K16. The latest ones to be unveiled are a popular Phoenix Suns team (sorry, not one with Charles Barkley) and two Miami Heat teams from the last decade. The 2004-05 Suns were knocked out of the Western Conference Finals in five games by the Spurs. The roster features Steve Nash (in his first season back with the team after a long stint in Dallas), Amar'e Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Qu...

NBA 2K16 releases three weeks from Friday but there is still quite a bit of information still to be revealed about the game. Today 2K Sports released a video going over, for the first time, what has been done for gameplay this year. The main theme is the "Living World", with improved atmosphere, smarter players, coaches that actually make adjustments, situational movement, physics-driven collisions, a new post-game, new foot-planting technology, and three dedicated buttons to make differe...
  • Live Pro-Am announcement had some traction, but can it carry the game to sales?
    Posted September 1st, 2015 at 5:15 pm 6 Comments »
Both NBA Live 16 and NBA 2K16 are rolling out a significant online-based mode that shares the same name. The importance each one holds is wildly different however, with Live Pro-Am being the main feature of that game, while 2K's Pro-Am is just one of several modes that offer considerable depth. Based on the results of the poll on the two, Live has done well with its announcement as it has attracted some interest. 29% of respondents found themselves more intrigued by Live's Pro-Am com...
