  • FNR4 Community Event Today
    by pastapadre
    Posted February 23rd, 2009 at 6:50 am
The day has arrived with numerous website representatives in attendance at the EA Canada studio in Burnaby BC for the Fight Night Round 4 Community Event. Throughout the day I'll be updating this posting with the latest links to content or any information coming directly out of the event. Given that the game is still 4+ months out from release we won't be seeing gameplay footage and the details the group will be able to share may be pretty limited. However EA is attempting to provide by f...
  • Upcoming FNR4 Community Event

    Posted February 9th, 2009 at 7:36 am
EA Sports is hosting a community event for Fight Night Round 4 in just a couple weeks. While I won't be attending the site is being represented by Moz (who I go back with a ways and currently resides in the forum). The event takes place on February 23rd. Given that it is happening about 4 months prior to release of the game it is uncertain what will be open for discussion coming out of it as it may end up being more about feedback than distributing information. Despite that I wanted to po...
  • First Images of FNR4

The recent Game Informer that had some new details on Fight Night Round 4 also included the first screenshots from the game. Someone took the time to transfer them online providing the opportunity for everyone to check them out. They focus on the young Mike Tyson that seems likely to be on the cover of the game. I've added the images to the screenshot gallery. Even as a launch title for the 360, FNR3 still graphically matches up with with the sports titles being released today. FNR4 may e...

The February edition of Game Informer includes a preview of Fight Night Round 4. A good recap of the preview can be found here. Another patch for NHL 09 is on the way and should be out sometime in February. It is intended to fix the attribute boosting along with making other improvements to gameplay. The achievements for 3 on 3 NHL Arcade can now be found here. The downloadable game is set to come out early next month. Some new gameplay footage has come out for UFC 2009 ...
  • Potential Release Date for FNR4
    by pastapadre
    Posted January 5th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
Gamestop has adjusted the release date for Fight Night Round 4 to what appears as though it could be the official one. Previously it was in the system with a placeholder date but it has now been changed to Tuesday June 30th. Generally Gamestop would not make a change such as that without having specific reason to do so. Looking at some of the releases already slated for around that time FNR4 separates itself from UFC 2009 Undisputed (May 19th) by six weeks and NCAA Football 2010 (July 14t...
  • FNR4 Cover Voting Update
    by pastapadre
    Posted December 28th, 2008 at 6:19 pm
Given that is has now been over two weeks since the poll was added to the Fight Night Round 4 website, I thought it would be a good time to check in on the results. The question at hand is who should the cover athlete be for FNR4? Mike Tyson, Muhammed Ali, or both? Nearly 50,000 votes have been cast with there being no real front-runner. Tyson leads with 34.9%, followed by 34.1% for both, and 31% for Ali. Since they allow you to vote as many times as you want the results may not be a comp...
  • Fight Night Round 4 Reveal
    by pastapadre
    Posted December 14th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
Earlier this week EA Sports president Peter Moore stated that the unveiling of Fight Night Round 4 would include "something never before seen in a videogame". Now, maybe I'm crazy, but a short trailer with CG footage doesn't exactly live up to that statement. That is all that was presented at the Spike VGAs on Sunday night. Nothing new about the game and no actual footage to get an idea of the direction they are taking the series. The leaked footage out of the Gamestop convention from three ...
  • Tyson or Ali?

    Posted December 12th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
That's what EA Sports is asking in regards to who should be on the cover of Fight Night Round 4. The official site for the game went live earlier today. Right now it includes producer blog entries along with the poll as to whether Mike Tyson,  Muhammad Ali, or both should be on the cover. With the unveiling of FNR4 coming on Sunday night one or both seem likely to join Peter Moore on stage at the VGAs. And could the tagline "no two fights are ever the same" be a hint at what Moore was al...
  • Peter Moore Talks About Fight Night Reveal
    by pastapadre
    Posted December 9th, 2008 at 4:42 pm
In his most recent blog posting EA Sports president Peter Moore discussed the Fight Night Round 4 reveal being made at the Spike Video Game Awards on Sunday. Reference is made to a "special guest" which seems likely to be Mike Tyson and a summer release date instead of previously stated spring. In addition they'll be showing off something "never before seen in a videogame". I hope you'll all be watching the Spike VGAs live this Sunday, where I'll be joined by a special guest on stage to sh...
  • Fight Night Round 4 Updates

    Posted November 15th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
The first official Fight Night Round 4 footage will be shown during the broadcast of Spike TV's Video Game Awards (VGAs). That is held live on December 14th at 9ET/6PT. If you haven't seen the footage that leaked out of a Gamestop convention a couple months ago you can check that out here. Some of the game's developers set up a Youtube channel. For a short time it actually contained a look at in-game Mike Tyson but that was quickly removed. As of now it doesn't have any game videos and pr...
