  • Fight Night Champion 360 Demo Receives Tuner Update
    Posted February 8th, 2011 at 9:30 am 21 Comments
One of the features making its way into Fight Night Champion is the ability to put out "tuner" sets that allow for the gameplay and settings to be adjusted without going through the lengthy patch process. The original plan never included releasing a tuner for the demo so this should be seen as an added bonus though unfortunate that those on the PS3 w...

The Fight Night Champion demo released yesterday with a full month to go until the game hits store shelves. Reaction has been mixed though a segment of the community has been highly critical. Over the years the boxing community has proven to be extraordinarily passionate and outspoken regarding any gripes or perceived slights in games representing the sport. Some of the complaining at the forefront of FNC seems justified in this case as the gameplay, at least at first, seems to appeal more to ...

The Fight Night Champion demo is scheduled to release on Tuesday February 1st but it is already out for a few in the UK. That means videos of the demo, including head-to-head online bouts, are starting to arrive. Early response seems to be positive in terms of movement and graphics. Concern though is higher now regarding stamina which has been promoted as a big area of improvement for the series but wasn't immediately evident in the videos. Given that the fights are just three rounds the lo...

Aspects such as damage effects, full-spectrum punch controls, a new blocking system, improved create boxer feature, and legacy mode are briefly discussed. Online play is also touched upon with glimpses of the "Gyms" and "Fight C...
  • Online Enabled Demo a Breakthrough for Sports Gaming
    Posted January 25th, 2011 at 5:45 pm 20 Comments
Fight Night Champion is set to have a typically structured demo, four boxers in two different matchups, but EA Sports turned in a surprise with the announcement that it will be enabled for head-to-head online play for a limited time. With the demo arriving on XBL and PSN a full month before release this is an especially significant development that could influence the way demos are handled going forward. (more…)...
