  • First NCAA Football 10 Patch Out Now
    by pastapadre
    Posted July 22nd, 2009 at 6:21 am
The release patch for NCAA Football 10 which the PS3 received last week has finally been pushed live for the 360. Starting up the game should now prompt download of the patch automatically. Issues addressed include an on/off option for downloadable cheats in online dynasties, fixing of the sliders so they affect gameplay properly, and instituting the "fixed" rosters for online play usage. I have received several requests for comment on broken progression in dynasty mode resulting in an in...

    Posted July 19th, 2009 at 12:18 am
You can now grab the named rosters for NCAA Football 10 out of my EA Locker on both the 360 and PS3. Search for the Gamertag and PSN name pastapadre and they will be available to download. These have only been named and no other changes have been made meaning they can be used for online play and the names will be displayed. I will continue to monitor the different roster sets released and make sure the best ones are in the locker at all times. Big thanks to everyone who put in the time and e...
  • Fight Night Knocked Out in June Sales
    by pastapadre
    Posted July 16th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Fight Night has proven one of the few sports franchises that has mainstream appeal. Fight Night Round 3 represented the second strongest franchise in US sales for EA Sports behind only Madden. After taking a few years off Fight Night Round 4 came out last month though it was difficult to judge the buzz around the game. Discussion online primarily centered around the controversial decision to remove the optional button control scheme and UFC 2009 Undisputed had released to high praise. We ...
  • NCAA Football 10 Impressions
    by pastapadre
    Posted July 15th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
While I haven't been able to spend extensive time with NCAA Football 10 I did want to post up my initial impressions. After reading through some reviews it's clear that the game is getting credit for things it probably shouldn't, but also getting knocked in areas unfairly. I stated in my E3 impressions that people who enjoyed NCAA 09 would likely enjoy NCAA 10 a great deal, and that those who strongly disliked 09 would not feel differently this year. It appears that has come to fruition with...
  • Teambuilder Walkthrough and Thoughts
    by pastapadre
    Posted July 11th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
Far and away most anticipated aspect of NCAA Football 10 has been the addition of Teambuilder. As always there is some trepidation at first when it comes to whether a new feature will work properly especially at release time. I have been able to dig into the feature and create a quick walkthrough of the steps. Continue on to check that out along with some screenshots of different created teams! (more...)...
  • Madden 10 Demos Dated
    by pastapadre
    Posted July 8th, 2009 at 8:08 am
Yesterday Gamestop sent out an email detailing the plans for the Madden 10 demo. The exclusive five minute quarters demo featuring the Cardinals vs Steelers will be available to download using the code obtained from Gamestop on Thursday July 23rd. Those codes will apparently be available in the stores on July 15th. They will be in limited supply so it would be a good idea to call the stores on that day and head in to get it before they're all gone. What wasn't clear from the email was whe...
  • FNR4 DLC Details
    by pastapadre
    Posted July 7th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
EA has revealed plans for upcoming Fight Night Round 4 downloadable content. The DLC will come in two waves one being in early August and the other in early September. The DLC will be available for free for both the 360 and PS3. August:  New gameplay sliders (punch accuracy, counter punch window, boxer stamina), a new gym, new equipment, and an alternate Sugar Ray Leonard exclusive to the 360. September:  Button control scheme. It was almost inevitable that EA would have to ad...
  • Blake Griffin Gets NCAA Basketball 10 Cover
    by pastapadre
    Posted June 22nd, 2009 at 7:08 am
USA Today has revealed that Blake Griffin will be the cover athlete for EA Sports NCAA Basketball 10. Griffin is expected to be taken first in the NBA Draft this week by the LA Clippers and was considered to be the clear cut best college player in the nation. In my preview article I had Griffin listed as the third most likely candidate. Along with Dwight Howard on NBA Live 10 they represent a big step up over the covers from 09....
  • NCAA Football 10 Demo Now Available
    by pastapadre
    Posted June 18th, 2009 at 6:22 am
The demo for NCAA Football 10 is now out on the XBL Marketplace and will go up with the PSN update this afternoon. Featured is a National Championship rematch of the Florida Gators against the Oklahoma Sooners with two minute quarters. The difficulty level is adjustable which is probably a factor in its large size of 1.57 GB. Leave your thoughts and impressions of the demo in the comments! I'll get some videos to go up this evening and maybe some observations based on what may be differen...
  • Madden 10 Player Ratings
    by pastapadre
    Posted June 14th, 2009 at 12:29 am
After responding to a ton of Madden NFL 10 player ratings requests in the previous posting I took on the task of putting them all together in a document. Included are the full rosters, overall ratings, and at many positions the speed and acceleration ratings. You can download the spreadsheet here. I am really looking forward to seeing how the spread out ratings affect the game. It makes the strengths and weaknesses of each team apparent and depth becomes more important. Users will have to...
