    Last weekend Couples Retreat was the only wide release. The movie was disappointing but it was able to pull in 34 million showing the draw of a simple comedy with a well-liked cast. This weekend though brings a wildly unique film along with action and suspense offerings. Where the Wild Things Are, the adaptation so famous short children's book, will certainly top the charts this weekend.     Only one movie opens wide this week despite it being a holiday weekend. Columbus Day does not traditionally bring out huge audiences to theaters but it is still out of the ordinary to see just one film come out over any weekend let alone an extended one. There will be some screens picked up by Paranormal Activity but that remains in very limited release.     A bunch of new movies hit theaters this weekend that have their own unique appeal. Surprisingly they are all getting decent to great reviews as well. After a few weeks of mediocre offerings this weekend brings something for everyone. In a world overrun by zombies bands of humans fight for their ability to survive in Zombieland.     Surrogates stars Bruce Willis as an FBI agent investigating a murder in a world that no longer is accustomed to it. The use of surrogates allows for everyone to go about their lives through the safety of their own living avatar, at least until the incident reveals there is more to it all than people realize.
