Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 17 earlier today experienced its first major disruption of the year and the ramifications are significant and widespread. A new set introduced to the mode was supposed to require five NAT (which are untradeable and unsellable) Elite level cards in exchange for a player rated 87+ with no restrictions. Unfortunately the set was improperly programmed and accepted five Bronze cards instead. For several hours users who were aware of the issue were able to capitalize...

Ultimate Team in FIFA generates hundreds of millions in digital revenue for Electronic Arts every year. The mode is built on digital purchases of in-game currency that is then spent on player and item cards. That can be unsettling as, unlike most physical products, they can't necessarily be inspected and tested to ensure they function to their described specifications. This has now become a major issue as a serious flaw has been identified in FIFA's Ultimate Team that causes the most de...

Today they've introduced even more incoming rookies to the popular team-building mode. Rather than just adding in all the second rounders (there are still 10 missing) they've also mixed in some seemingly random selections from the third and fourth rounds.  (more…)...

Ever since 2012 EA Sports has been adding incoming rookies early to Madden, several months before they make their official debut with the edition that represents their first actual season in the league. They've been able to do this by introducing them into Madden Ultimate Team and that has continued now for a sixth straight year with Madden NFL 16. All 31 first rounders taken in the 2016 NFL Draft can now be found in Madden 16's Ultimate Team mode. There are two different types of cards:...

In an update that went out today the brand new mode Salary Cap Ranked has been added to Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 16. Not affecting any of the other ways to play, Salary Cap Ranked places a value on players who are selected from Item Binders, with 34 of them being chosen for the team while being fit under the assigned 1,000 point cap. There is an entry fee of one "Event Ticket" and once the teams are formed the challenge is to win six games before losing two, which is just like Draft Ch...
